i have a 12 year old boys who is always on the internet. Can i create a password for him to use when he goes on the internet. Intenet explorer has a google window which he can always access. can you get rid of it or password protect it

If it's search filtering you want, then, one method you could try is, get a Gmail userid, and set it up with an intense password to "remember me on this computer" (so you'll always be logged on to it whenever you're online) then set it as your home page, and go to the right of the search bar under "preferences" and set up Strict Filtering.

But, as is obvious from my answer, this has the shortcomings of, the boy could easily (1) go to Preferences and reset the filtering or (2) simply Sign Off the Google userid.

I suppose you could, under Internet Options, on the Security Tab, click Restricted Sites, click Add, and type http://www.google.com ... but then, that'd block YOU, too!
