practically speaking , any liquid that has sugar content , because sugar particles get stuck in between the circuits of the board and makes them 'short circuit'. so next time you switch on your laptop , it goes KABOOOOM

Any kind of liquid and you can throw your laptop away. It's one of their disadvantages I'm afraid. Also be careful especially in winter of condensation. Make sure your laptop has cooled down before putting it in it's case or condensation will form and that is just as bad as water, coffee, tea or whatever. Keep liquids far away from your laptop.

soda comes to mind
but i'd imagine chemicals such as nail polish remover or cleaners may be just as bad, if not worse.
Water's probably not so good either... but at least you may have a shot of being okay once everything totally dries out.

Hypothetical question?
IMHO I'd say rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover, really gets in deep.
You realize this is a hard question to answer right?
