I think that there are a number of 'low-cost' advertising options, at least from a financial perspective, as they might be time-consuming, which could add to your opportunity cost.

One way would be to have a web presence, i.e. have a website. Now, you will certainly have to pay for the website, but you can always make some money back if you agree to advertise other companies on it, i.e. have their banners on your company's website and receive a percentage of their revenues based on the traffic you sent their way.

The other cheap way of advertising in both the USA and the UK is vistaprint.com and vistaprint.co.uk respectively. You have the option to make business cards, postcards, flyers, brochures, fridge magnets and even T-shirts for free (limited numbers) or for a really cheap price. I have been using them to promote a Society that I manage and doesn't cost me a lot.

The third and perhaps most important tool in advertising would have to be your customers. If you take good care of them, if you pay attention to their wants and needs and if you offer them the best of service, then I cannot see why word of mouth advertising would not be an option for your company. That and an incentive always seal the deal. However, you have to go easy on the incentives (e.g. loyalty discount, free drinks etc) as they carry an explicit cost for your company.

Hope this helps.
All the best,
Eleimon

Word of mouth is the BEST 'low cost' advertising ... but you could try printing up some flyers and taking them to the hotels and the richer apartment buildings in your area and asking if you could leave them there ... because limousines are supposedly 'high class' you'll need to use good 'slick' paper and good photographs, and you may want to hire a professional to do the layout, but if you make the flyers look ritzy, you WILL get customers from them. You have a computer (or access to one) so you should do the layout and typing yourself to save money and make it look more 'unique' ...

I would start by contacting the finance dept. in big companies in NYC, and offering them specials for their employees. If it normally costs $50 for a limo to LGA, give it to them for $40. A good car service is hard to find in NY, as most of them are lousy. Most important, when you do get a gig, BE ON TIME!!! Even 10 minutes late could mean someone missing their flight. Also, try search engine marketing.

Hi There, all the suggestions of previous posters are great, I also think that you can start a web site and market your self there pretty inexpensively. There are many low cost hosting sites that you can use and also design your site. Check out http://www.homestead.com

Hope this helps
