Not so long ago, a guy like Hugo Chavez would be taking a dirt nap compliments of a CIA hit squad. Now any leader can tell America to hit the bricks, even one from some crab and coconut country.

Fact. The USA is a shadow of what it was before. Its mighty factories have moved overseas or are rusting away. The innovations are happening elsewhere or by Asian immigrants with H1B visas. The dollar is a JOKE and the US is no longer a creditor nation but a debtor nation. The world´s financial center is heading to the Far East as we speak. America´s big trump card--the military--is playing Whack-a-Mole with Bedouins and LOSING!

The sad thing is, it´s not only America´s enemies and rivals that are ignoring its bluster. It´s America´s allies as well.

No, as they sense growing weakness, enemies, former enemies, and recalicitrant allies, alike, will stop ignoring empty bluster and start using it as a pretext to act against the USA.

Many times in history, this country has been underestimated. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
It would be a mistake to assume that you understand us.

It would be an even larger mistake to presume that you able to predict how we will respond.
The bickering that you see in this forum is an indication of our strength, not our weakness. Until the rest of the world understands that, they will have no concept of what it is to be an American.

I believe that the rest of the world will do what they do, and when it comes time to clean up their messes, they will look to us, just as they have in the past. All these countries that you mention have one thing in common, they all need our money. If they want it, they will just have to put up with our "bluster", now won't they?
