I myself would think it was a blessing and put it in my pocket.

That is a very good question and speaks directly to a person's sense of integrity. (do you know what that means big sexy?)
I'm this way, if the person who drops the money looks like a little old lady or man who may be losing their life savings, I would return the money.

If the person losing the money looks like a member of a drug cartel or the mafia, I'd pick it up and be on the first thing smoking.

The same would occur with corporate types and materialistic me types with their Hummers and Jimmy Choo shoes--

So my integrity, I suppose, depends on the circumstances behind the loss.

.... I'd return it to the person that dropped it. YES, i AM that dumb. Even though i'd want to keep it, i would think about the fact that it's not my money; and what if that was everything the person had, and they dropped it? That would suck. So, i'd give it back. (Besides it would be wrong to keep it, as it wasnt my money!)

I don't know what you are thinking as far as "a large sum" of money; but i would probably handle that the same way i'd handle finding a dollar, or a 5 or 10, or 20.

I was in a convenience store the other day.... was handed my change, and turned around to leave. I saw a $10 bill laying on the floor. i could easily have picked it up, put it in my pocket, and walked out, and had an extra 10 bucks. But I DIDN'T. Instead i said, "Someone lost money?!" and picked up the 10. The guy who it belonged to came and got it. He said thanks. Whatever. I couldve had an extra $10 if i weren't so darn honest, but then, i figure what if it were me? and it was my $10? I'd want someone to return it to me. ♥

I would have to get their attention and give them the money back. You have no idea what or who they are this could be a persons life savings, you just don't know. Plus karma would repay me and it has in just this way. I have done this very thing and a few weeks later I dropped my wallet and all the money I had was in it and at the time that wasn't much. I was going through some tough times and guess what, A guy came running after me with my wallet.

I'd like to think that I would let them know and give it back, but when I have found money before I have never hunted for someone looking for it, so in all likely hood I would keep it.

I work in a Casino and this happens alot. I tell them about it or pick it up and hand it back to them.

If I was on the street I be counting it to see what I am buying

I don't even got that in me. I try to think of how I would feel. That might be to keep their light or heat on. It may be for something else, but that's not really my business. I would grab it and run up to them and give it back.
Now if it was juss lyin' there and wasn't anyone else around!!
OOOOoooh! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

I would yell at the person loudly, to make sure they didn't lose their cash. If they were gone, I'd pick it up and chase them to get the cash to them. I would not keep it - that type of Karma is something I just don't need!
