Fill your washing machine with hot water, add 2 cups Chlorox, add towels, allow to agitate and then stop machine. Come back in an hour, add laundry soap, allow the cycle to finish. Then run thru another cycle to eliminate excess chlorine smell and sniff. If they are still stinky, I'd toss them. Problem with towels and washcloths is once they get the funk, they will never be as they were, always getting stinky way too fast. You are fortunate these are white items. Question above is for colored clothes,ARGH!
