Hi!
Right after your period your CM will be creamy sort of like lotion.
A few days before you ovulate your CM will be kinda watery and slippery. (Consider yourself fertile) When you get close to ovulation or on the day of ovulation your CM will be kinda white and stretchy and stringy ( you will be able to stretch it in between your fingers...gross I know but trust me we TTCers do it) it will resemble egg whites..after ovulation you may notice some watery/eggwhite CM and then once you get close to your period it will dry up..some women who have conceived say that around the time that their period due they will get alot of CM instead of it drying up like it is supposed to but every woman is different. Hope I helped!

I am going to give you my standard answer.......go get a book called "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will help you truly understand your body and cycle and erase all the myths that women beleive about their bodies.I believed all the ovulation & conception myths that are floating around here until we tried for a year with no luck. My doctor recommended the book and it worked the very next month! It turned out my timing was wrong and that I don't ovulate in the middle of my cycle like most women.
I'll be 40 in Nov....and I am due to have my 4th in March!

Hey, I to had ireguler cycles due to pcos, most ladies look for egg white cervical mucus, its usually strechy, and clear it last about 1 day, but a day before ovulation it looks cloudy white and thick, most ladies also use bbt to chart temperture, and check their cervical position, using ovulating monitors are some what reliable

If you can I would go to the library and find Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It helps a lot about cervical fluids, charting, and cervical positions.
