this person has been released to go back to work with some lifting limitations. What responsibilty does employer have to accomodate this employee? Employee states no limited work is available....what are options for employee?

Normally, if there is no restricted work available, the employee stays on Workmans Comp. Most employers will find some sort of work to avoid the filing of "lost time" accidents on their account. I did office filing for 6 weeks when I was injured at work.

Especially since the injury occurred while on the job, the employer is ineed obligated to accommodate the doctor's stated restrictions as to the employee's abilities.

If the employer cannot find alternative duties for the employee that accommodate the restriction, then they need to be put on paid leave.
