How come there are so many peoples around that don't know how to protect there computer and don't use 1 firewall, 1 antivirus and some anti-spyware/adware/malware programs?
Haven't they heard about viruses, trojans etc.

MOST of it is plain...IGNORANCE..of computer issues. MANY don't have a whirl what MOST computer terms even mean.
I know when I 1st started with WEBTV [ shoot,what a DOG! ] and had NO CLUE what I was doing,ROFL.
when I 1st bought my 1st compacq,the store dealers didn't BOTHER to clue me into computer terms,problems [ virus\worm\trojan\ect ] at all! just took my money and not even a thank you!
so much for Radio Shack!
it's up to us to teach those poor slobs what time it is and how to protect themselves.
look at all the movie\video\tv information requests that come our way.
not a clue that software needs to be added to view\download\burn stuff with our computers.
same for games ! did you get a guidebook covering ANY of these topics when you bought your computer? I didn't!
thank GOD for people like those who assist here on Yahoo! Answers and other fine computer message boards to help out everyone GRATIS!

Maintaining computers is easier than most things I've done, for the simple minded people its easy as just buying an anti-virus installing it, along with a nice spyware cleaner, spybot & ad-aware seems to be good for me, and a firewall of course Microsoft gives you one for free.
People will be people thats the problem, protecting a computer should be pretty much hassle free I'm not sure why people become lazy, maybe they are just scared of technology and just block it out of their minds to secure themselves, you hear all this stuff on the t.v. like computers are impossible to be able to safeguard all your information, media drills into common peoples head that getting your credit card number on the internet is easy (blah blah blah).

People are idiotic and lazy. They apparently don't know the risks of the internet. They also just use the computers instead of maintaining them. They'll just pay Best Buy like 50 bucks to fix their computer

People want to use computers...........not maintain them. It's the same with a lot of other items in life.....animals, cars, homes, ETC.

even AVs n firewalls won't provide 100% protections.there will always be new vulnerabilties ^-^!well yea kidda those are computers noobs ..

because people are lazy or unaware. in either case most people think "it won't happend to me and/or my computer"
or they never think about it untill disaster strike and its kind late.
but I do agree with you on that one....I rwead many question, and its really makes me think that people are plain careless.
