The Edge, with Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins. It has a line I live by in it. "What one man can do another can do." That is really the only reason why. Just that one line. I have done so much using it to guide me through some rough periods in my life.

I just saw "Slipstream" which definitely made me believe that Hollywood can still come out with original and beautiful films that are really high quality with technical aspects. As a film student , I pretty much decided I'd never do any work in Hollywood (I want to do documentaires), and after seeing this movie, I actually now think it's still an option for me.

"'On Golden Pond"

It teaches about growing up and growing older and the importance of mending family rifts. Excellent, excellet movie (but probably before the time of many people on here since it came out in the early 80s).

Another long time favorite and my all time favorite:

Don't Cry, It's OnlyThunder

It's about the Vietnam War...about the children who lived through it. Another outstanding movie. Very rare and hard to find. I have it on VHS...thanks to a collector who was willing to sell it.

Life As A House...because it teaches you a few things....1 It is never to late to reform a bond with a loved one...and 2 Just because your diagnosed terminally ill does not mean your life is over right then and you need to make each day count the best you can! My mom was terminally ill and lived this way and this movie reminds me of how brave she truely was!!!

The Pursuit of Happiness... Phenomenal story and very inspirational. After seeing that I just thought how easy I have it compared to some people and that the struggles I was facing weren’t that bad after all. It also gave me inspiration to move forward with some things I had been meaning to do.

"Pay It Forward." I've found it to be true that a simple random act of kindness can really make a person's day - not only the receiver but the giver as well.
