They might as well scrap the BCS with cup cake teams like Ohio state at the top. Just put the names of all the teams in a hat and pick one. That is how the Big 10 figures out the winner of that silly girl Big 10 conference. I say scrap the whole BCS thing and go back to the days when the winner of every conference claims that they won a national title. This BCS thing has some major flaws. It reminds me of the federal govermnent.

I'm not a Big 10 fan, but I can't believe the sour grapes I hear regarding the conference. It's not Ohio State's fault that the voters and computers at the top.

Funny how there was no crying when the SEC and Pac-10 had teams at the top. But once those teams proved that none of them could run the table, all this whining started. I don't disagree that OSU is a questionable top team, but that's the way the rankings work. If LSU, for example, wanted to be at the top, they shouldn't have allowed 40 points against Kentucky.

1. Ohio State is not a cupcake team. They are an undefeated team, which is more than LSU or USC can say.

2. Okay, so USC and LSU have schedules that are so much "tougher" than Ohio State. Having a tough schedule means nothing if you LOSE GAMES in that "tough" schedule.

3. USC, LSU, and others did not get beaten by their "tough" opponents. LSU lost to (at the time) #17 Kentucky, USC lost to unranked Stanford. A championship team plays hard in EVERY game, and doesn't "phone it in" against the lower ranked teams. You have to take ALL your games seriously.

4. The Big Ten champ is always based on the winning/losing record of the teams. How is that "picking from a hat" like you say? If two teams play in regular season, why does the winner of that game have to beat the loser TWICE to prove they are the better team?

5. Now that I have countered all your anti-Big 10 and anti-Ohio State hatred - to your "question".... PLAN A: The solution to the BCS is to the "plus one" bowl arrangement, which we are one step closer to with the 5th bowl added. #1 plays #4 in one of the bowls, #2 and #3 play in another. The remaining 2 bowls use traditional conference berths. After the 4 BCS bowls are played, the winners of 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 play each other for the Championship a week later.

PLAN B ....Put the top 8 teams in the 4 bowls, with seeds (#1 plays #8, and so on). After the 4 bowls are played in late December, the 4 winners play in 2 more "added" bowl games on New Year's day, those 2 winners. play a week later in the National Championship bowl.

The BCS was supposed to stop people from whining "we should be #1", but every year it creates a handful of teams whining, "we should be #2". An 8-team playoff would only create dozens of teams whining that "we should be # 8"

How do you get "Silly" conference from these hard facts?

Big 10 Vs ACC 174 - 99
Big 10 Vs Big 12 312 - 209
Big 10 Vs Big East 327 - 150
Big 10 Vs Pac 10 266 - 251
Big 10 Vs SEC 94 - 87

I am tired of bringing these facts up since the Big 10 is having a off year with an average every week of 2-3 teams in the Top 25 and a # 1 overall team in the nation. The Big 10 has over 19 National Championships more than any other conference besides the Ivy League.

Where is the major flaw with the Big 10?

GO BUCKS!

2 LSU
3 Kansas
4 Arizona State
5 Boston College
6 Oklahoma
7 Oregon
8 Southern Cal
9 Florida
10 South Florida

I agree that the old bowl system was better. The computer has serious flaws because college teams often get much better throughout the year and the computer doesn't account for that or a freakish type game either. Losing later in the year doesn't seem to punish you as much as it should (or used to).

Granted, they have no "official" Big 10 Championship game, but the season usually comes down to OSU and "that team up north" for the conference crown.

Maybe you should move to Canada for some socialized medicine. Take Micheal Moore with you.
