I had bad experiences from herbal medicine but I'm not suggesting you shouldn't take herbal medicine, not everything agrees with everybody. Make sure you exercise well, eat healthy food, avoid eating too much junk food, drink plenty of water, keep your body and mind active. Joining a club, taking up a hobby, relaxation techniques, cognitive behavioural therapy and massages can also be really helpful. There is a book I recommend called "Feeling Good" written by a psychiatrist called David Burns which tells you practical ways in managing depression such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy involving thought challenging processes.

I also have IBS. An enteric coated peppermint oil capsule between meals reduces cramps and bloating, digestive enzymes help you digest food more efficiently, probiotics will help prevent the overgrowth of candida and other harmful microbes, ginger root tea or capsules with each meal will reduce gas, bloating, and diarrhea and improves the functioning of the stomach, and the aloe vera juice. A toxic liver can aggravate IBS and can put additional stress on the liver. Take Milk Thistle on a continuing basis. Also a agood green drink will also be beneficial.. New Chapter's Berry Green is excellent.

Aloe Vera shots (like from a shot glass) 2 x a day.

Lots of acidophilus bifidus.

And a gluten free diet would help loads.

As a natural therapies practitioner I have treated a lot of people suffering with this problem and have read all the posts here. The one that seems the best advice to me so far is posted by Scottish Lady. I use several types of clay in my treatments but if you are not a practitioner I would definitely recommend the bentonite.

I have a specific way of using the bentonite that does an excellent job and you can get it free at

qigonghealer@gmail.com Just send an email request

I have been doing this over 25 years and I sell no MLM products and have nothing to sell you. The advice is free

Aloe vera is also very good, especially if you can get the raw juice or gel. This contains acidophilus in large amounts as well as MSM and both of these are destroyed by pasteurisation and no matter what any company claims about isolating the active substance and improving it, it just ain't true, but it sells a lot of aloe vera to the uninitiated. To keep it short, you cannot interfere with nature.

IBS is almost always connected to some emotions that you find hard to release. Mostly it is from past hurts that just won't let you forget. I have found EFT to be the best method of treating emotional problems so it would do you a lot of good to check it out.

But that doesn't say that all IBS is emotional. There may be certain toxins involved that have to come out of you as well. Again I recommend bentonite and MSM or aloe vera

Hi,
I too have had that and was told also that diverticulitis was an issue as well. Remember that all your health can be controlled by the intestines which contains a map of your entire body. I found that the use of calcium bentonite clay mixed with water at a 10/1 ratio and drank twice or more times a day esp. at night was very, very beneficial. Also when kept hydrated by drinking lots of pure water even in the night if I woke up. Helps to pull toxins from the body and flush out the natural way. Interferes with no meds. unless they have a metal base since it pulls metal (unwanted metal) from the body. Do not use sodium clay. I used one found in CA and uncleaned as it comes from the ground pure. God put it there a very long time ago, maybe a million years ago and now it can be helpful to your health.

My mother has had IBS for many years. Very recently she took some advice from my step-sister-in-law who is a nutritional counselor.

#1) find out if there is anything you are sensitive to. Gluten, Dairy or red meat or refined cabs. Whole food are always best.

#2) Coconut oil is great for ppl with IBS. It is absorb directly into the liver and used for energy NOT stored as fat. tropicaltraditions.com

#3) Soluble Fiber soothes, insoluble can irritate. Oatmeal is a great source.

Stay away from artificial anything. Stick to whole foods 110% of the time. Avoiding GMO foods and pesticides can also help so going organic can make a big difference.

I also suffer with IBS or at least I did.

Changed to a lowfat diet and no longer have symptoms. I originally went on Nutri System and realized my symptoms were gone. Went off and they came back.

Now I follow my own lowfat diet and no problems. I miss fried foods but not worth the price the next day.

I find that a few teaspoonfuls of slippery elm (mixed into water) has worked really well for me. I also don't eat wheat at all and this has helped me. It is important to find what works for you.

After doing this and not eating wheat my specialist could not believe how well I was. I have had relapses, but that is because I ate a few things I should be avoiding (I think. Not provable though).

Maybe you can try the all natural bowtrol IBS treatmant products.
Bowtrol was developed to successfully target all symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Bowtrol contains only 100% natural ingredients and as such does not cause any side effects. It is by far the most effective product on the market to effectively manage all IBS symptoms.

The recommended treatment for patients mainly suffering from constipation is a combination of Lactospore Probiotic & Colon and Parasite Cleanser. If on the other hand the main symptoms you experience are paired with diarrhea the recommended treatment using Bowtrol is a combination of Lactospore Probiotic & Colon Control.

One of the main beneficial components of Bowtrol is the Lactospore Probiotic. This consists of 9 billion lactospores in each serving which will flourish in your small intestine and ward off parasites while promoting good health.
