Obviously, the Coyotes have not finished in their games well. Besides this last lost to Detroit, the Coyotes have been dominate in the games and averaged around 30-40 shots, but couldn't finish and get the puck in net. Do you think this is bad luck, bad finish, or just rookie inexperience? If it's rookie inexperience, do you think that they'll be able to recover and win some games this season, and possibly contend for a playoff birth?

Also, what's the deal with the goalie situation? Gretzky can't keep a three goalie rotation, two's hard enough. Who do you think will earn this key spot and when do you think we'll know? I've voting Tellqvist, but Abby isn't a bad second.

I'm in the same boat as you as a Kings fan. This season and maybe even next season both teams are not supposed to be good accroding to management and fans of both teams are told to be patient. Making the playoffs would be sentimentally great and a boost for the rebuilding morale however in all honesty, a high draft spot (meaning losing a lot) would probably help the teams more in the long run with the higher draft picks.

As for the goalie situation, the problem with Tellqvist is that he has been a career back-up so I can almost see why they would go with 3 average goalies to try to balance out the workload. Abby did have some good years in Colorado however that was pre-salary cap when Colorado was a real powerhouse with really good defense. With the Canadiens, he struggled behind an average team and could not steal games like good goalies need to do from time to time. I think he fits more of a backup role as well. The bad news for the Yotes goalie situation is that I don't forsee any viable prospects in your pipeline. The good news is you have 3 semi-decent journeyman goalies and you got them for cheap. Abby (600 K), Auld (600 K) and Tellqvist (800 K). I guess you never know, one of them can catch fire and be the next Cristobal Huet. On the flipside if the one you got in there flops, you can just insert another.

But to answer your question, no your season (and mine) are probably going to end like last year.

Good luck.

6 games into a season and you wonder if the season is salvageable? They are only 2 games below .500.......odds say the Coyotes wont make the playoffs and such, but that doesnt mean they will just fold their tents and give up......they really are not that bad of a team there are teams that play worse and win anyways, the key to the feenicks season will be games 40-60, which they seldom do very well in.....if they are in contention around game 70, they will make it....if they are 5 points or worse back of 8th place at game 70, forget it....though this team could be way out of it by game 50 anyway.

Put it this way: almost every "expert" in the field picked them to come in dead last this year BEFORE the season even began. This team is totally in rebuild mode, AGAIN. You won't see a good team in Phoenix for another couple of years, presuming everyone doesn't bail on them by then.

In any case, it ultimately won't matter which goalie they go with. NONE of them have been able to win the starting spot on teams with better defenses. What makes you think they'll be any good in Phoenix? You're going to have to hang in there and hope the young guns develop in the next two years before they'll be salvageable.

Wayne, you were the highest scoring player in league history.
You played the game at the level that you wanted to play and no more can be said about a player.
However, as a coach you suck, you can't will your players to play at a higher level.
Obviously your evaluation of player talent is sadly lacking and it is time is admit it.
Get out of there before your legend becomes somewhat faded by your ineptitude. Great players rarely make good coaches

Gretzky's plan this year is to finish last overall. What is there to salvage?
