My family and I are thinking about taking a trip to San Diego over April Vacation and we were wondering if people usually find the jet lag to be a problem. We would be traveling with two kids (ages 16 and 10) from Boston to San Diego.

For short trips, jet lag usually isnt a problem.

Longer trips where the time difference is > 6hours, then jet lag can play havoc with circadian rhythms.

Try to get plenty of sleep before you travel, try to sleep on the plane, and try to relax awhile just after arriving.

Happy travels!
Cheers :)

Not at all! I think you will just have about a 3 hour difference. Just try to do some outdoor activities when you arrive and go to bed according to the local time.
You and your kids will be fine!
(Some months ago I travelled from America to Europe and back, that's a 7 to 8 hour jet lag each way, and had no problem adjusting. Just a little tired the first day, but that was all).

For that short of a distance you will only be three hours different. Jet lag usually hits when you travel 8-12 hours difference Like to Europe or Hawaii. After the first day, you will be fine, just go to bed earlier and you'll wake up fine.

That's a 3-hour difference, which really isn't that bad. It'll be easier for you on the way out -- it's always easier to let your day extend by three hours.

On the way back, it'll be hard to get out of bed on time the first few days.

When folks complain about jet lag, they're usually talking about much bigger differences.

See that all of you rest well before you start your travel. Its not comfortable to sleep on the aircraft. Make sure all of you have a quiet peaceful day with plenty of rest before and after your flight.Rest is very important.
