Do you honestly truly believe ghosts exist?

I don't and here is why.

I'm 31. I have never seen a ghost clearly. One has never appeared to me.

By nature ghosts are cowards and do not appear at things like picnics with family and friends where there are 100 people present outside.

Ghost movies always show smoke, dark places, and things that go bump in the night.

Minds play tricks all the time. Movies can influence.

Why is it that ghost stories (shows / reality shows) are always dark, have night vision, smoke, mirrors, cloudy windows, etc. How about CLEAR high definition, in public and witnessed by numerous people....

Always in the shadows.

I believe in them. I have some thoughts of my own on the subject; why and how they stick around, what they are, etc. I worked in a treatment facility for children that used to be an orphanage (night shift for 2 years - and I'm scared of ghosts...maybe not the smartest choice, but I survived, lol). We had at least one entity, and I had a few encounters. I didn't actually see her at any point in time, at least not clearly. But what convinced me more than anything is that very clear-headed, rational people, who do not believe in ghosts, saw her, and refuse to be alone at night in that building. Much of what I saw, heard, and felt could be easily explained (and I did a LOT of explaining in order to be able to work there), but there were some things that were not possible. Doors opened by themselves, people walking around in the locked attic (there was no way out, and we went up to look around...nothing). Things like that. I explained those things away as well (or just ignored them), but after it happened so many different times...I couldn't explain it any more.

Many spirits have been sighted in the day time, as if they were living people.
You see, we all have a "soul" & the "soul" is eternally young. Our bodies are nothing more than a "shell" that the "soul" resides in. When one dies, the "soul" leaves its shell & most likely moves on or may wonder restlessly.
"Ghosts" are restless spirits with "unfinished buisness" or a tramatic moment wich lead to the person's demise.
They can be seen at all times of the day or night. It may be the reason they are likely spotted at night time is because, that may have been when they have passed. Or it can be a "comfort zone" for them.
By far they are NOT cowards. They choose whom they will show themselves too. It largly depends on your innocence, your intent & your "openness" to allow them to appear to you. Also, there may not be enough energy for them to draw on to appear to you. There are many circumstances for this. Aslo, calling them out in a "Rude" manner, will have ill effects. Do you will want to piss off something you can't see, but only feel? That would be ignorant & dangerous.
Most of the "reality" shows are just plain a fake & unfactual. I have only seen a few that do justice to the field of Paranormal.

Well, you have a good point- however since I've seen & heard a ghost- I believe, now.

Well, I always believed in the air we breathe- even though we can't see it- what it does is real- something like the ghost "manifestations" we had here at home before we even saw the damn* ghost!

btw, I'm 33- this happened a few weeks ago, once during the day and I wasn't the only one who saw & heard...

I do believe two things never die...the soul and love...real love...not sure if it would be a ghost, but I do believe loved ones do look after us even when they pass over and may contact us to warn us of something or just to let us know they are ok...thru dreams, ect...is that a "ghost?"..if so, I am a believer. also not sure about the word ghost as it is kinda generic. I do believe we leave "impressions of ourselves behind anywhere we live, but we can be alive to do that.

Ghosts are a phenomenon not yet explained. Real or not there is something to it. I agree with you about the tv shows, its always night vision, shaky cameras and poor sound quality. Why not get a clear picture.

definite, of direction extraterrestrial beings exist. little doubt approximately it. All that universe accessible yet purely Earth has life? it relatively is a stupid concept! i'm an historical Astronaut Theorist, which believes extraterrestrial beings got here right here and help to shape our historic previous, even make us. They took considered one of our ancestors and mixed it with their DNA to make a race people. We have been first used for slaves.

YES,YES,and YES! I totally believe! I have had too many experiences to not believe. I have had the ability to see ghost since I was about 4 or 5, thats the first I can remember anyways. The first was when I was very young, I was in bed about to fall asleep, I heard foot steps in the hallway and thought it was my brother. the foot steps stopped by my door, nothing unusual about that; his bedroom was right next to mine. I shut my eyes and tried to go to sleep. About two minutes later I heard my door open. Thinking it was my brother bothering me I said" Go to bed!" When I looked there was a tall, skiny man standing in my doorway. scared the crap out of me! He was there for a second and then he was gone. Then next was a few years later, I was about 14 or 15 i would say; my father always worked late so we kept all of the doors locked in the house. When he came home he would always knock on the back door very loud to let us know he was there. Well, I was up in my room doing homework and my brother in his doing the same. We both heard the "knock" on the back door and ran down the stairs to see who could get there forst to let him in. Our Mom was on the couch watching TV and she asked what we were doing, we told her and she said that she didn't hear anything. We ran to the back door and unlocked it and there was not one there Very creepy. A while after that we all heard a baby crying in the closet and there were no babies in the house! We could not figure out where the crying was coming from. We checked everywhere! We all heard it! We don't live there any more by the way!
I now am grown with my own family and have lived in two places that are haunted so far. Our forst appartment was very haunted! I say a lady dressed in white almost every night. She would appear int he kitchen and walk over to my bedroom door and then to my daughters room. She would never go ont he room just stop at the door and look in and then go away. Almost like she was checking on my hubby and daughter. The appartment was right by a cemetery so, at night all you could feel was the feeling of being watched. Very creepy. the house we are in know is haunted as well. I see shadow people all of the time. there is a presence in my daughters room. I have on many occasions had her sleep with me because the people keep waking her up and trying to talk to her. thats what she says anyways! I am planning on dsetting up my videi camera in her room tonight to see if we can catch anything. Both my self and my hubby have heard foot steps in our hallway at the same time. there was not one else in the house, the kids were at my moms house. Just to let you know. I have also had some one I couldn't see breathe very deeply in my ear. that scared the crap out of me! This summer we were having a bon-fire and we were all out side. We left the light on over the stove so we could have a little light when we went in. We were sitting there relaxing and enjoying the beautiful night and we (me and hubby) and my mom as well, saw a sark shadow of a very tall man walk by our living room window and peer out, it stayed there for a few seconds and then walked through the kitchen. It even blocked the light from the blower on the stove. I had my hubby and his friend go in and check and there was no one to be found. So, as you can see, I have enough "proof" for me to believe! We are having a paranormal investigative team come in and do a full investigation next month. Hope this helps!

There seems to be a remarkable lack of valid evidence for ghosts. I don't and won't believe in them until valid, verifiable evidence is presented.
