Well to begin with I shop the sale fliers in my hometown. I only buy the items on sale and if I have to go to a couple of stores to get what I need, so be it. I make a list and stick to it. I shop at Aldi's (don't know if they have one where you are, but they are very affordable) for alot of things. Lunch meat, hamburger, variety of frozen foods. Some things from there are really good, others not so much, it's trial and error (don't, don't buy their soups!). I shop for my condiments (ketchup, mustard, A-1 sauce, etc... at Wal-Mart. They have these things much cheaper than the grocery stores. I don't really clip coupons, because a don't take the paper, but if you have that resource use it too. If I go to the store and something I really like is on a good sale, I buy several. (Went to Kroger yesterday and their Campbell Select and Chunky Soups were $.99 a can, huge savings - bought around 30 cans). You just have to pay attention to the sales, and stick to your list. Good Luck.

Is there an Aldi where you live if so shop there? Consider buying in bulk but only on items that you will actually use. It is cheaper to buy 100 lbs of rice (trust me I did) then you could put the rice in zipblocks and it will last a year or more. Just understand it will take 1/2 to cook that kind cause it isn't isant. You could consider buying your vegies from a farmers market. Learn to never buy things like shampoo, tolite papper, and other bathroom or clean products from a grocery store. Those are always cheaper at a dollar store or at WalMart. Lastly buy generics.

I base my weekly meals off the sale ads. I also use coupons most of the time. What else, um...well I also buy generic on some things. Not all! Cause generic mayo just don't taste right. I spend $40 a week on groceries for a family of 4. I also use www.angelfoodministries.com too.

I'm trying to buy healthy but produce is so expensive. So I am buying a lot of canned and frozen vegetables instead of fresh ones. We also eat a lot of fish and chicken - I can't really substitue on those so I look for sales. I also avoid all the non-essentials (snack foods, soft drinks, etc). About once a week we eat a pasta dish as pasta is still pretty cheap.

For dirt cheap I buy rice, beans, ramen noodles, pasta.

Mac and cheese and ramen noodles are your friend.

Cut out all unnecessary food purchases and extras. Give up soda, chips, candy, etc. Only buy it if you can use it and it's on sale. Buy cheaper cuts of meat. If the quality is good, buy more generic brands. Make casseroles and eat leftovers.
