I personally think that by banning makeup at school it would work in a sort of chain reaction to slow down the rate at which children grow up these days. Makeup was not supposed to be worn back when I was at school seven years ago but girls wore it and the boys got interested. I think if it was banned all together, the girls would be less competitive over their looks, the boys wouldn't be so interested, children would fit in together better and generally wouldn't grow up so fast. This is only my opinion but I am interested to hear yours. If you are at school, please don't hurl childish comments at me without thinking them over first. I would like to hear thoughtful ideas from people who are at school and either agree or disagree though.
Thanks!

I'm not a student. But i agree with the whole kids are going up too fast
I'm not too worried about the makeup that's the easy part. Some girls put so much on they look like miniture clowns trying out for a part in chuckie. But my concern is the fashion.
The girls no wear these tiny little things they call skirts, in my days that was a head band. (and i'm not that old)
Boys are goign to interested in any kind of girl, it's in their hormones, they can't help it. But a loose girl is goign to be a piece of cake.
I think we are allow our children to grow up because some people want to relive their youth. Not everyone and please this is only my opinion as well.
Yet i know women who wear tiny outfits then go and buy their daughters in smaller things. Little girls are wearign thongs. think about it. I remember when i weggies were a bad thing.
Banning makeup sounds like a good idea but I also would think banning floss as skirts would be a better approach.
Even the school uniforms are useless the skirts are so little your butt hangs out.
I think to slow down the rate children grow you need to re-educate the parents. I'm not talking about the parents who are doing something I'm talking about those who aren't they should be held accountable. Education starts at home. that's just my opinion

Just looking at some of the other questions posted by 13 year olds on here, I see what you mean. Enjoy being 13! ride your bike, play with in the park and soak up all the good times. I know a lot of kids who still did those things at 13. For your speech, I'd focus on the positives that you've experienced. Maybe talk about a day you really enjoyed where you went to the park and how it made you feel. Speeches are great when the audience can relate to what you're saying. You can mention how you feel like you're the only one, and talk about what other kids your age are doing, and how they should enjoy being a kid longer.

Make up makes no difference - it is examples set by others, and families and schools, thanks mainly to the pressure of exams like SATS for small kiddies are not doing their jobs either with regard to their own attitudes and behaviour. School playground discipline is non-existent and children at home are fed a diet of violence and sex on TV because some parents do not sit down with them just plonk them in front of TV or games console or computer. I share my TV and PC with my grandchildren we tell stories research things and they all read well (the little boy loves it)) the youngest girl is learning Irish Dance at present and both are into music and word games. They are indeed slightly advanced for their age but nice normal kiddies. However dear, even though I do not agree about make up (I was always getting in trouble at school for wearing it but it made no difference and certainly didn't affect my growing up in any way at all), I think your question is a very sensible one. I hope you don't get too many nasty answers, but a lot on here (young and old) just do it because they want to feel big. Ignore them. (by the way I am still in the school of life, but am 63 so hope you don't mind an old bird sticking her beak in) Blessings

I disagree. Girls will find a way around make-up and figure out how to sneak it in. I just think that they need to experiment with what they are comfortable in. You can't make them stop developing.

I myself didn't wear make-up until I was a junior in high school. It was a lifestyle choice, I was very active and cosmetics just got in the way. Even now, I wear very little when I go out, just some powder, lipstick and mascara.

i agree with you on the point of children growing up to fast, but i dont agree with blaming it on makeup. i graduated in 2002 & makeup was NEVER an issue in high school. we were more concerned with getting the new jordans or new air force 1s i couldnt careless about makeup. ive seen girsl fight over shoes. i guess it depends on what are you're in & whats popular with the girls. i also think that videos has alot to do with it to. young girls see these fake made up girls that are half naked & they have all these males wishing they could get with them & i think they try to look like them

These days they are growing up way too fast........babies having babies, children having sex........little girls crying over boys that dump them..........when I was twelve I couldn't ever mention liking a boy or even think of going on a date with one.........parents are to blame in a way......they've given too many liberties and now it's out of control, and now they want to know what went wrong............we can only hope that things get better

Every kid grows up at the same rate, 1 year = 1 year.
