"After unceremoniously removing all of its Christmas trees in the middle of the night last year, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport this season will dispense with any religious symbols and just celebrate "winter."

Hmm, so why is it that the so called "secular progressives" (They're really secular oppresives) can attack Christmas, but not attack the Muslim foot baths?

This just goes to show you that there is a war on Christianity. (Funded and supported by the liberals such as the Aclu F.Y.I.)

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Priority, your honor!
There's a bigger problem of racial hatred against people of middle eastern descent than hatred for a Pagan Christmas decoration.

The Supreme Court has held that a Christmas tree is not a religious symbol, but rather a secular symbol. I have no problem with that decision, as a liberal.

Religious accommodations, such as the footbaths you refer to, have long been upheld by the courts. I also have no problem with reasonable religious accommodations.

Be careful how you categorize people’s beliefs. The ACLU, for instance, has fought for the rights of evangelical Christians to preach on the sidewalks of the Strip in Las Vegas. The individual rights being protected have to analyzed in context.

Also the facts of the Seattle airport controversy were that a local rabbi wanted a Menorah also displayed and the response of the Seattle airport was to remove the Christmas trees. That was just silly.

One of the great things about Christianity is that you need no special equipment to practice it. You don't even need a bible. You are also not immediatly stoned if you happen to drop or in any other manner, "disgrace" the bible, or any other religious symbol.

Think about it in America we have a ceremony for disposing of the American Flag but not for the bible. I guess that would require to much effort.

My point is that Christianity makes practicing one's faith very simple, to where you can practice the faith anywhere without notice from anyone around you. Other religions don't have this benefit. Yet, anytime one tries to accomadate there rituals they are riduculed by the Christians.

As for the removal of the trees in the Seattle Airport...
There would not have been any problem if someone hadn't complained. First of all the Christmas Tree is not a religious symbol though one can argue that it is a symbol of a Christian holiday. So when a person threatens to sue the airport for not displaying the symbols of his and other religions the airport decides to remove the trees instead of fighting a lawsuit and being required to display symbols of every religion. Yet, of course the Christians feel they are under attack again.

On the ACLU, there are no complaints (or even mentions) of the ACLU when they are defending the right of a White, Christian, Male. How many conservatives praised the ACLU for defending Capt. Peter Brown in his fight against the US military for inflicting on his Christian beliefs?

The Supreme Court ruled (several years ago) that "religious" holiday symbols could be displayed in a public place as long as they were displayed along side secular displays like Christmas Trees, Santa Claus, etc. So, I do not know what the big deal is. As a Christian, I know trees are not a Christian symbol, so why all the uproar, I don't get it. Since evergreen trees are a pagan symbol of "winter", you'd think that libs would be all for them being displayed everywhere.

It's just a general hatred of Christianity but the ability to embrace all other religions. It's a sad sad world. I was listening to a talk radio station about a Christian that was arrested or fined. He was a preacher and offered to wash the feet of some new converts (like Christ washed his disciples feet). Well, this offended someone and the man was charged with some stupid stuff (can't remember off top of my head). Just shows the world is going down the drain. In our society we can't spank children or discipline them cause it might alter their personality yet the Bible tells us to. We can't tell people their in sin cause it's hate speech. Also, some people were trying to change the name Easter Bunny to Peter Rabbit so it wouldn't be associated with the Christian's. (not that a dumb rabbit has anything to do with Christiany and as far as I care they can have the bunny lol)

The footbaths is blatent catering & kissing up to a minority who hates Americans.

Are you sure it's the "A"clu and not the Middle Eastern CLU??

Yeah, they need to get a CLUE.

When will our government figure out that the ONLY users of the footbath belong to not just a religion, but a political system and organization calling for the end to any and all constitutional governments?

"LIBERALS" willing to go to "WAR"? Unbelievable! How is this possible?

I thought we were all "surrender monkey, terrorist-sympathizing socialist baby murderers who would roll over and appease any rogue nation which invaded us while singing Kumbaya and playing guitar around a campfire"?

Oh right. The non-veteran, non-soldier, non-sensical Republicans are the ones who won't fight. They scream about God and Patriotism, but when asked to defend their country, they are too busy, too many anal cysts, too many other irons in the fire to defend their country when called (but who somehow still believe they know the best way to prosecute war, despite all evidence to the contrary).

Do you believe that Seattle Airport should have a Christmas Tree and a Minorah and a Kwanzaa display and a New Guinean religious relief and a display for EVERY religion which celebrates a holiday?

Do you not only install a manger scene in front of your mother's house, but also a display of all other religions, thereby demonstrating your tolerance for other religious beliefs? No? Then do you feel the Seattle Airport must? Why must THEY support YOUR belief system? Why can't YOU do it? It's always about what someone ELSE won't do, which you think they should, never about what YOU should do. Why is that?

Yet another gross generalization. I lean left and I have done neither of the things in your question. I adore the Christmas season and all of the decorations that accompany it. As for foot baths, I'm not too versed on the practices of Muslims, so I would not even know what they are for and how/ if they are offensive.

Sorry but I'm having a hard time thinking of a serious answer to this question.
I really had to have a good laugh at Lilliput's answer. You see while I have never been nor never will be gay, I live very close to West Hollywood, and use a lot of soy sauce.
In addition I absolutely love Ann Coulter. I think she would make the perfect wife. Yes, Believe it.

Some disparately delusional liberals will contest these issues aren't to be taken seriously.

But they scream the loudest until laws or rules are changed in order to compensate for people aiming to be nuttier than a fruitcake can proudly stand over everyone else acting holier than thou...

While crushing or stomping on anyone who dares to contest any fairness toward their own rights...

And blatantly misconstruing what freedom really means to people unless they can strip someone from it like leaves from a tree.

Goofy. Just plain damn goofy.

Who are these liberals? You are listening to the drive by media. Fox news and people like Rush limbaugh always talk about some small news artivle and rant about it for months trying to cause a stir. Be smart and understand they are using you to promote their radio/tv shows. By the way there are no foot baths anywhere I have been to in the past 6 months so its abunch of bull. By the way if Jesus loves liberals why dont you? Do you think your better than Jesus?
