A lie is the result of an inner conflict between the conscience and the fickle mind. The mind tricks into into saying something, against the actual fact. The mind , further , tells us the ways to hide the fact and make the lie appear true.
Thus , the sorrow of a lie is a guilty feeling persisting for hours till the mind justifies the lie as the best under the circumstances. The scar remains for a long time.

Do you mean the sorrow of a lie or the sorrow of life?
The sorrow of a lie is that it invents a reality that can't survive.
The sorrow of life is a life lived with regret and not joy, with hate and not love, with war and not peace.

It is the guilt that knowing the lie may have hurt some one if they ever found out. That is the sorrow.

Did you mean the sorrow of life?
Or the sorrow of a lie?
If it's the first, I'd guess that it has to end.
If it was the 2'nd, that it had to be told at all.

Sorrow is a phenomenon on a mundane level.
Mostly it occurs either when one do not get what one aspires for, or when one looses something what one wishes to continue posession of.
