It is probably not included in any statictic as it occurs outside of the recorded economy. But that does not mean that no economic activity is occuring. It does presumably distribute wealth from those with more means to those with less, which will have an effect on the supply and demand for differnt products.

It depends.
If the person begging is honestly destitute then I think it is unfair to say that they are doing so for economic reasons. They are more likely to do so out of necessity.
However, as happens in my home town, the beggars are not destitute and do so to rip people off by playing on their sympathies. By doing so they are trying to increase their income beyond what is needed to basically survive. That is when begging becomes economic.
