Remakes...lots of sequels are made purely to make money because the 1st one did good. Sometimes they make sequels even when the 1st one does horrible!!!! But remakes sometimes can make the movie better, especially if its something from a series (ex: Halloween), because the director knows more about the story and can work with it a little better. Especially horrow or sci-fi movies, with new technology they can be so much better!!

it always depends on who is involved. If it's the original director that's good !
They are starting to get better at remakes, but it's like one step forward two steps back! or they do both it's sort of a sequal but a total remake at the same time 'superman returns'
anyone?

I prefer sequels.
I don't understand the logic in remaking a film. If the original was good the remake usually doesn't compare. If the original wasn't any good, nobody wants to see it a second time.

I prefer remakes, because they ruin a movie sometimes by making a sequal withut the original actors. but a remake of a classic is usually better now because of technology. Usually...

I surely tend to love the Originals greater useful. yet i don't dislike all remakes. The Texas Chainsaw bloodbath, The Hitcher, Halloween, The Taking of Pelham a million 2 3, promenade evening etc are all stable. then you somewhat've undesirable remakes like Charlie and the Chocolate production unit, The final homestead on the Left, Psycho, and definitely the worst remake ever Friday The thirteenth.

Remakes. The original material was usually good & if the director does even a decent job, the movie turns out to be good.

As much as I hate unnecessary sequels, I hate remakes even more. For instance the remakes of hairspray and Willy Wonka were so not needed.

I'm going to say remakes....if they are done well. Sequels with replacement actors are usually bad. (ex. "Hannibal" with Julianne Moore) It was a beautifully shot film, but not the same without Jodi.
