I don't expect they can be as specific as Republicans, but let's try.
-They don't like SS reform and are against private accounts. They killed it last year, but they expect to keep the vigil against an ownership society until the system runs out of money.
-They dislike the President’s policy in Iraq, but they can’t agree what to do differently.
-They like Kyoto. They would not pass the treaty, but they would talk about it more, ironically creating even more hot air.
-They like nationalized health care in general, but not any of the details.
-They think 4.7% unemployment is too high, but they have no plan to do anything about it, a wise strategy since unemployment below even 5% is hard to sustain.
-They oppose Arabs investing in American infrastructure, but oppose profiling in any other way.
-They all hate President Bush. Howard Dean hates all Republicans.
Any Dems want to be more specific or make corrections? What is it that most Dems favor of that most Republicans are against? In other words, why should anyone follow the Democratic leadership for any reason other than a vague sense of curiosity about where such people might wander?

It depends which Democrats you're talking about.
If you're referring to the actual Democrats... the smart ones... the ones that should be calling the shots, then they likely stand for the same things the rest of us do... a safe America, an integrity to our culture, secure borders, success and prosperity...
but if you're referring to the current Democratic leadership... the moveon, org Insane Clown Posse led by the maniacal Howard Dean...you're talking about a completely different picture.
They stand for... getting more and more power for themselves
Period.
They'll say and do whatever they have to do regardless of the consequences... to achieve that end.
They'll commit treason if it will further their ends.
If we elect a Democrat before the real Democrats retake the Party... if one of these left-wing radicals takes office while the rest of the posse runs the 11% approval rating Congress...
we're all in for a world of hurt.

So.. what I get from this is that the Republicans don't stand for anything? Only "against the Dems"... ?? I mean.. when you said we couldn't be as specific as the Republicans I honestly thought you were going to give Republican views.. silly me.
SS reform all the way... but to us that doesn't mean trashing the whole program
We've tried several options in Iraq.. the President keeps vetoing them
I like the idea of the Kyoto protocol... but it's too specific against certain nations (like the US) and doesn't do enough in others.
Democrats just want affordable health care for all... Nationalized is just the only viable plan to have been presented thus far.
We're more interested in the quality of employment right now than the number.
Asking our administration to not allow the GOVERNMENTS to buy out America isn't profiling.
We don't hate President Bush.. we just think he is inept.

Dems stand for nothing but the regurgitation of mindless mantra's which programmed into them by the party and serve only to get these morons reelected.
1) Redistribution of wealth but don't mention the long hours, liability, and risk it took to accumulate the wealth.
2) Pull troops now but don't mention the sure to follow blood bath
3) Kill babies but spare convicted murder's
4) Enslave poor families with meager handouts and require the father to leave the home to qualify insuring certain disintegration of the black community
4)Nationalize health care when every other country with such has people coming here for care.
All democratic social programs are designed to one thing- keep their constituents dependent upon the leadership so they will continue to vote for them.

There is a problem with you thesis here at that is you hold to some idea that Republicans are specific - have you heard any of the Republican Presidential Debates? These guys are all over the map regarding ideas. How cares if Howard Dean hates all Republicans and democrats have President Bush - most Americans right now don't like the man and that includes Republicans. Have you heard of Ron Paul for instance?
Good Luck!!!

I got such a kick out of the guy that posted this. I guess he thinks that killing unborn babies is moral.

Democrats stand for:
Being contrary to anything that comes from the opposition whether it makes sense or not.
Getting elected even at the cost of principle and then arguing among themselves over what to do next.

You are seriously uninformed....All of the Dems running have come up with detailed plans for Universal health care, the economy, the environment....you failed to try and look it up....the Republicans, on the other hand, are running on the "Hillary Clinton sucks" platform.
