if your snoring is very loud, you may have obstructive sleep apnea, I suggest you talk to your doctor about having a sleep study done, then recommendations can be made based on your study results, as to what would work best for you.

Avoid sleeping on your back.Try to lay on belly or side way.
Should should also consult a doctor ENT surgeon(snoring is often caused by deformation in the nose or in the palate.
See also a physician(snore as a result of other diseases)

Ask your doctor about attending a sleep disorder clinic.
My boyfriend went to one, and it helped him tremendously.
They gave him meds and a special machine to use while he sleeps, and his snoring STOPPED.
However, he stopped the meds and stopped using the machine, so he is snoring again, loud as ever.
Get this checked out. Snoring can lead to heart attacks and strokes, especially if you are a smoker, over age 45, and overweight.

You have to go see your doctor to find out what is CAUSING your snoring. You can't fix the problem if you don't know what the cause is. The doc will most likely order a sleep study to be sure you don't have sleep apnea etc. Once the docs figures it out he will be able to tell what is wrong and what needs to be done. Go see your doc.

a snore is a sign of an upper airway or nasal obstruction, so you need to find out the sight of obstruction. is the snore coming completely from a nasal obstruction, or is it an upper airway obstruction. have an overnight oximetry done to find out if your oxygen saturations are dropping. if there is a sawtoothing pattern in your oxygen sats, further investigation should be done, like a formal sleep study. investigate sleep disorders at the american academy of sleep medicine, or the association of polysomnographic technologists website.
