You can try running AVG in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode, reboot and then either hold down or tap the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is starting up.

If the file location indicates System Volume or Restore then Malware may still be lurking in your system restore volumes so it would be in your best interests to disable system restore, reboot then re-enable system restore when you log back on. What this does is protects you from reloading the malware should you ever need to do a system restore.

Many anti-virus products cannot remove viruses from system restore thus the reason for clearing out possible infected points. For reference to this, see the link below:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial56.html#problems

There are several ways to disable system restore but the easiest is to go to Control Panel, System, System Restore tab and tick the box to "Turn off system restore on all drives", click Apply, click OK and reboot. Follow the same steps when you log back on to re-enable system restore by removing the tickmark.

For reasons System Restore should disabled and re-enabled after and not before malware removal, see the webpage below:

Turn off system restore, make sure your AVG is updated, make a note as to where the file is located, then reboot into safe mode by pressing f8 key upon restart. Run AVG in safe mode and see if it deletes it. If not, go to folder where it is located and delete the file. Then reboot, go to internet and do online scan at bitdefender, kaspersky, or symantec. Make sure it checks entire system. Should be clean by then, unless it's something very nasty, which would be stuck in your registry. If so, might want to download full trial version of good anti-virus and spyware programs to fully get rid of it. Just make sure that system restore is turned off when scanning, since viral file copies tend to be maintained with that on.

Usually when this happens to me I just delete the file. Untill now I only got files that were in the browser cache, so I didn't really needed them. If it's a file that is part of some installed software, you may need to run the setup again or to use the repair feature.

you probably can't suggest you use AVG to quarantine the virus so it cannot do more damage.
