They paid a rate for serving and protective you and me and allowing them to be War Heroes is a small rate to pay for the hardships they have got to undergo. Now if being a POW entitles to to be elected as president I might say no. My father used to be a POW within the Bataan Death March in the course of WW11, and he's a hero, and I love him dearly, however he might no longer make an overly well president

athletes get millions to hit a ball or make a basket or what have you.
soldiers risk their lives to defend our country and keep the citizens safe.
if you make a mistake in sports, you always get another chance.
on the battle field, there are no second chances.
