I do believe in second chances, but in my experience once a cheater always a cheater has been true. Even if they did get back together and he didn't cheat he has already planted that seed of doubt in her. She would spend her time wondering what he does when she isn't around, who he talks to on the phone, or constantly questioning his every move.It really isn't worth all that. Tell her to move on.

Every time I gave a second chance involved in cheating it wasn't worth it...I worried all the time wondering where they were and what they were doing. It's hard to trust someone after that. I don't think it's worth giving a second chance...I mean sure sometimes they might change but it will never be easy to forget what he did to her. And you mentioned it was pretty bad on how he cheated on her....why would he even do that to her if he truely ever cared for her. He had control over all his actions and unfortunatly he fu*ked up so I say maybe she can be his friend but I believe it's better to just move on. Not worth taking the chance to see her heart get broken.

The problem is 99% of the time cheaters cheat again. If a man cant overcome his desire to be an idiot once, he wont be able to do it the next time either. There is always the 1% chance a guy has deeply hurt himself in the action by allowing himself to hurt his love. But... i friggin doubt it.

I know for a fact that the phrase 'once a cheater always a cheater' is not true. Some people actually realize how horrible cheating does affect others and their lives. I don't know what to think about this person that you mention and no one does. I think your friend should go with her gut feeling, it never lies.

Yes, once a cheater always a cheater. People never change they only consciously change their behavior for a while. This is my personal experience but people never change. So tell your friend to avoid further trouble, drop the guy.
The only way I believe a person has the ability to change is through God.

In my personal experience, that saying would be true. I don't have any proof that my ex cheated on me, but based on what I know he's done in the past, the way he behaved when we were together, and the things he's done since we broke up, I know he has NEVER changed! Tell your sister to cut all contact with him, that is the only way. You can't even be friends with a guy like that, cuz they are dishonest about anything and everything, and they just like to have a string of girls to mess around with and fall back on when they need to.

Generally speaking, that is true. However, if a person is genuine, means it and shows it through there actions, then anything is possible. Its a long tough road though because at some point the person being cheated on has to start trusting again and if thats not there, its a waste of time.

Ultimately the decision is hers to make BUT for me...cheating is the ultimate betrayal and I will NOT forgive such action in todays world. I did accept it when I was a young woman, but I am 38 now and you cheat on me...YOUR GONE!!! it shouldnt be acceptable at ANY age. Best of luck to your sister.
