I have spent many years working in hospitals in one of the poorest cities in the US. When I see claims of people "dying" in the hallways or not receiving care I just scratch my head and wonder where this is happening. the "crisis" is imaginary and made up only to garner support for an inefficient universal health care system.........

good idea lets ask a person in the medical field what caused the problems. A majority of them will tell you Government controls, mandates and regulations are what put us in the situation we are currently in. and it seems your proposal is to put MORE government into the system to fix the problems government caused. How about you put the market back in the system. currently there are small town doctors that are dropping insurance all together and charging a flat rate to families no matter how many times they come in or what they need done. This is but one example of how the markets and federalism is capable of overcoming obsticles that the government has put on the medical industry.

The problem is how do you pay for universal healthcare. Healthcare cannot be provided for free. It is impossible. The people providing the care need to be paid. The supplies provided during the care have to be paid for. The facilities have to be paid for.
If healthcare is provided to all and they do not have to pay for it then there will be much more doctors and nurses needed. There will be more supplies needed. There will be more facilities needed. These will cost money. Lots of money. Unimaginable amounts of money. There are many people who point out the flaws that Canada has with their system and they do not have near the population that we do.
Come up with an equitable way of paying for it and then it can happen.

there is absolutely a health care crisis. I really hope universal health care comes soon, because like nearly half of my generation I work, and at a skilled tech position at that for my full time job I have a few jobs, but still have no insurance.

The only healthcare crisis in the US is trying to fund healthcare for drug addicts, bums, and illegals. Stop forcing hospitals to provide "free" healthcare for these social parasites and there will be no "crisis".

OF COURSE there's a HUGE Healthcare problem in the states! Instead of paying for Healthcare we're paying for soldiers to go to the Middle East on Suicide missions! Ridiculous! For a gun shot wound, or hemoraging, or any urgent situation, the patient has to wait at LEAST 6 hours in the hospital. Then, many people cannot afford the hospital bills! That's where our taxes should be going! For a better system!!!

Universal Health Care is very successful and much cheaper then the current system in some European countries. But I am 100% sure, the government will screw it up, here.

Well, I don't know about whether there will be NHI, but there will almost assuredly be more rationing, whether by central administration (HMO-style limitations), or by the privatization, in which more poor don't get care. It's all a matter of keeping the aggregate demand curve in check so as to contain prices. The alternative would be to let prices escalate, and taxes along with it -- not likely in America.

Seems fine in my family, we have several ailments, from cancer to MS and other various ailments that pop up from time to time. And guess what? Every one is doing well, receiving great care, no problems in getting treatments, no problems financially. So not sure what everyone else is doing but perhaps they should reevaluate their budgets.

There is no crisis, there are problems that can and should be addressed but socialized medicine is NOT the answer.
