Depends what you do with it. I retired when I was 55 and have been so busy I've thought about going back to work to get some rest. I volunteer at the VA Hospital two days a week and do "handyman" stuff for the elderly when needed. Now I'm tied up with youth church groups raking leafs and cleaning up yards. During the summer I mowed four lawns and in winter I'll clean 5 or 6 driveways and walks. Is it wonderful, yes it is!!
Then the grand kids, that is great when you can be with them for a "camp out" or if dad can't make it to a scout thing I can go!

I hate to be the bearer of not so great tidings but like I told my younger friends after I turned 50 - no. Become 50 and start to fall apart- but consider the alternative --- that is even less desirable. On the plus side the kids are gone and the grand-kids are not your responsibility. Just sit back and enjoy them!!

If you have been successful in your family life and at work by that time, it will be even more amusing after 50, otherwise, you might begin to get a little depressed due to loss of some physical and memory abilities.

My mom turned 50 and she looks amazing! Her and my dad go on cruises and loads of great places. I guess at any age, it all depends on your situation. I know a lot of 50 plus and they are having the time of their life!

Age is a state of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
Last week I was in a store and the clerk whispered to help the "old guy". I turned around to see where he was and realized it was me:) It makes me laugh to go full circle as I remember hearing when my parents were forty and I thought they were older than dirt:)
Sexy is an attitude and mature, intelligent women are that.

It can be, if you have the right partner. I remarried in 1999 and I will be 54 my next birthday. He is 6 years younger and has a wonderful sex drive that keeps me feeling younger than I am.

Speak for yourself Brian T - I am NOT old saggy and unattractive. I was 50 earlier this year and am very sexy. Me and my hubbie are swingers and have loads of fun. Yeah being 50's fine - life is what you make it!

Well not really. Your old, saggy, unattractive, etc. But by that time your kids should be gone and people respect you more. So it's a 50/50 situation.
