remember its not like the earth alone is rotating...Even the atmosphere is rotating with the earth...Hence even the air around it is rotating with the same speed or nearly the same speed..
And thats why when you jump up for a second u wont land 1.66 km away...Its because you are rotating with the Earth..
But there is a little effect of the rotation as all the wind blowing tend 'bend' to the west!!!

As said above, the earth does not moves alone in itself. The atmosphere is also moving with it and the atmosphere has sealed the land. I want to add to that fact a bit.
The wind is caused whenever there is change in pressure. The air flows from high pressure belt to low pressure. Thus, there is nothing regarding the velocity of the earth and more than that, there is no air in the outer space, so this causes no wind. Although the earth rotates with that speed, there is no any medium for that speed to drag. Hence, no wind is caused .

That is how we conclude that the atmosphere along with the birds and areo planes must be rotating with the same speed, leaving aside some effect of viscosity, and prpellent motion of some objects.

Because the atmosphere spins with it at the same speed, the same as everything else, including you. This is why, when you jump up, you don`t land 100 feet from where you jumped.
