Where do I begin? My husband and I have been ttc for about 7 months now. We already have 2 children (ages 4 and 11) and for some reason cannot get pregnant. I have irregular periods. Sometimes 28 days and then 36 days.I went to the doctor about 4 months ago. He did a pap and an exam (everything came back normal). He put me on progesterone pills for 2 months to "regulate" me. I stopped the progesterone pills 2 months ago. The 1st period after was horrendous! I bled for 8 days and had severe clotting. Now I am on day 44 and NO period. I have taken 3 tests. The last test I took was Saturday night. It was negative. I am very confused. Also, my periods were regular while I was on the progesterone. I have made an appointment to see the doctor but that cannot get me in until Nov. 5th. Oh yeah, I have TONS of discharge. I mean tons! Oh, and also I seem to be losing a ton of hair. Clumps and clumps. I feel like I am losing my mind. Any opinions would be great! Thanks

Girl - I SO feel you on this one! My husband and I have been TTC since May and I too have been waiting and waiting, with terribly long cycles. :( I'm on day 44 myself - so I am literally in the same boat as you! I've taken three tests (one even this morning!) and all negative. We literally could be pregnant but the tests aren't picking it up. I've been told to give it another week and test again. That's what I'm trying to do, but it's driving me nuts! I have fuller breasts, lower back pain, twinges in my pelvic area, nausea some days, hunger the next - all signs that I'm prego, except for the BFP. I'm losing my mind too. I'm trying not to stress because I know it's not helpful, but it is very frustrating. I plan to test again on Friday and if nothing, get in to see the doctor. I fear ectopic, so I pray it's just low HCG levels or something. Hang in there! Give it another week, test, and if nothing - at least you're going to the doctor soon. Baby dust to you!!!!

All I can say is that my friend was extremely irregular with her periods throughout her entire life (one every few months, if that). Her doctor said she wasn't ovulating very often. She went on Clomid and conceived twice, but miscarried both times.

She went on the Nuvaring to be careful this last year (she decided she didn't want to get pregnant), and missed a month (she didn't get her prescription filled on time and didn't seem all that worried, given her track record over the last 32 years). Well, the Nuvaring regulated her period so much that in the missed month, she ovulated, and now, her baby is due in just three more weeks!

Coincidence or not, who knows? But it worked wonders here! (She is very very happy!) It is possible that the Nuvaring regulated her hormone imbalance so perfectly (because it is internal and the dosage is constant) that she did ovulate and that is why this baby was so readily conceived. I wonder if it could work for you... See what your doctor says.

Best of luck to you!
