I use blogger. I already tried deleting the HTML part that had the blogger template info, and replacing it with the HTML code for my new template. Is it even possible to have a template besides one from Blogger? I really really really want a different template...is there any way I can do this?

As long as the XML elements are made up properly you may give it a try. If it doesn't work out, nothing is lost, you'll just retain your old blogger template. You'll get an error message, and that's it.
