I'm a senior in High school and I am begining to apply for colleges. I'm the first to go on to college in my family and am VERY Ambisious. I'm so confused about this whole college situation and what I should do. I don't know what to major in nor, what I want to do in the future. I'm currrently taking Pre-Calc., college writing, and accouting. I'm soon going to take Calculous, anotomy and phys., physcology. I really enjoy science and Math. I'm not an english or history person at all. I used to want to go into pharmacy but changed my mind. It's hard for me to ask my family about college because no one has the experience. Is it okay to be undecided while applying to colleges? Will that lessen your chance of getting in? I have the potential to go extremely far in my life. My class rank is 74 out of 316, not too bad. My GPA is around 3.4, not to bad either. I just need a little advice. I don't know what to major in..

Speaking as someone with two bachelors degrees, here's my advice: major in nothing. It is good, VERY good, to know what you enjoy, but sometimes high school level appreciation doesn't translate over to college appreciation. For example, I loved history in high school, so I started as a history major. I despised history in college, and ended up changing my major... a lot.
You might find that you adore what you never got exposed to in high school. For example, I never had any type of sociology classes, but that's what my first degree is in, as is the Master's I am working on now. If I went with my gut as a high school senior, I would never have known.
My recommendation? Start working on your general requirements. Take a survey of stuff, and start with the stuff you like, especially science and math. Statistics is a good course to take, because it's required in a lot of majors, and it sets a tone (i.e. I know a lot of high school students who LOVED science and math, UNTIL they took Stats, which they hated). Try a history course, a sociology course, or an economics course. Also a language (because it never hurts). Widen your field, but make your courses work for you; make sure things you take:
(a) are interesting to you. Things that you actually WANT to take
(b) are valuable. Things that fufill your school requirements
(c) are feasible. Happen at hours/days that you actually would want to go to class. Too many freshman heap on MWF courses that occur at 8:30 am. Believe me - that's difficult.
You're in a good place as far as GPA, and being "undecided" as a major does not work against you (just like having a major these days doesn't necessarily work for you; most schools expect majors to change). Just be open to experiences, and you'll do fine at college.
Good luck.

If you are unsure try declaring a business major. That can include accounting or you might look into the various kinds of engineering. You might even want to teach math or science. The first two years you will be taking very general courses and during that time you will probably have a better idea of where you want to end up. You can always switch your major but make sure that you lock into something by your sophomore year so you don't waste time taking unnecessary classes. Your grades are pretty average so you probably wont qualify for scholarships and that gives you more leeway in choosing what type of major you really want to pursue.

I think Architecture would be great for u. MAths, physics and Calculus would make the trick when u go for this major. Go ask your careers master he will probably tell you the same. Let me know when you make the right decision, please. Wish u success.

major in electronics and communications engineering or computer programming, computer engineering, or computer science. the graduates of these courses get quite the biggest paychecks around.

u don't have to know exactly wat u wanna major in b4 u attend collegs or apply to them. just apply for the basic liberal arts and science and u always change it when u've decided wat u wanna do. that's wat alot of ppl do, major in liberal arts, which is also easier to get into and then decide when they're like in their junior yr (when they start to take their classes for their major), they can decide their major. that's wat i did.
