yes michaels does carry them and in lots of sizes. right now michaels should have halloween bakind and decorating items, unless they have sold out then they won't be receiving them anymore until next year. wait a couple more weeks and they should have christmas baking and decorating items. michaels also has lots of other cake decorating items. the cake bords and decorations should be in the cake decorating aisle or in the seasonal section. its better to buy them when u see them or wait until the first sale, because when they go on sale they can go really fast.
i work at michaels.

I'm assuming this is going to be a large rectangle cake...so i would suggest using foam board. you can cut it down to whatever size you need and its very sturdy. if you were to use just a regular rectangle cake board for a rectangle cake larger then 9x13, then you are asking for a disaster as the cake board itself won't be able to support the weight of the cake, and then the inevitable will happen....you cake will crack. So i would just get foam board from JoAnns or Micheals and then cover the board (if you don't cover it, the oil from your frosting and cake will seep into the board) and then just use that....

Michaels has them and so does Party America. Check your yellow pages for cake decorating stores as well. Don't let SaMi worry you, I have used carboard cake boards for half sheet cakes and larger for years and never had a cake crack. Bakeries use them all the time.
If you cut a regular board down to size make sure you leave enough room around the cake to be able to hold it properly.

RE:
Where can I find a rectangle cake board? Does Micheal's have them?
I went to JoAnn's Fabrics/Crafts and they didn't have any cake stuff except seasonal. I just need a cake board. Does anyone know where I can find one?
Thanks!

Yes they do carry them. Have you tried a cake decorating store in your area. They will have a larger variety of sizes. Look for one in your yellow pages.

Go to your local grocery store. I was a manager for Publix (down here in the south) and we gave them to our customers all the time. They may even sell you one for next to nothing. Just ask the bakery manager.....
Good luck!
