I think a lot of people don't want to get married because they are afraid of the vulnerability. Others don't want to commit to one person and others just have other priorities. No matter what the reason, getting married or not getting married is a very personal decision. One I wish more people would consider before jumping into marriage or even waiting too long to marry when there isn't a reason to wait.

someone once told me they dont want to get married because "it never works out once you start pretending to "own" the other person. The women ALWAYS has the upper hand in the divorce and the guy gets left with nothing"
Sad things is, i know someone in that situation. He was married for years...found his their kid wasnt his when the child was 16. Stayed with her after that. One day she just up and quit her job
(she was making like 66,000.00 a year) and when they filed for divorce...he has to pay her like 500$ a week. Obviously, she capable of taking care of herself!

i am married.
but, i think marriage isn't taken very seriously these days. there is alot of divorcing and people just don't believe in it anymore. there is also such an emphasis on dating. that's all you ever hear and see. so, i think that people don't see it for what it is anymore (or what it should be, regardless of religion, etc..)
