You might aswell be a man

Whats the point of being a man if youre not going to be a father?... well it doesnt change either way... child or no child.

What's the point of being a man if you're not going to be a father? What's the point of this question?

Edit-
Oh, OK. Well, I guess there's no point in me being a woman then. I'll just go get me a strap on and do you up the chocolate starfish if that's what you want.

How rude and insensitive you are!! I would have loved to have had children. I was molested as a child by a male family member. I had so much scaring that when I got older I was told I would have to have surgery to make childbirth possible. Well, the two husbands I had both had several children they were paying support on and did not want to pursue other children.By the way, they paid support on these children, but had very little contact with them because they were always too busy. So, some of the mothers and fathers I have seen shouldn't have been. Are you one of them, Mr. Lover???!!!!

Woman are humans too with the ability to freely think and pursue life. There is FAR more in life than just sex. A woman has the unique abiliby of the two genders to generally withstand stressful times, times when lovers act like morons (ladies how on earth do you put up with us guys?) No im not disrespecting your question. It's not a stupid question I think it's a very good philosophical/social question for the purpose of learning all about the other wondeful things women can do.

This question baffles me. There's more to being a woman than being a mother. And likewise, if a man doesn't father children, that doesn't make him any less of a man.

I suppose what baffles me, is what about the women that biologically cannot have children? Just because I can't reproduce, that doesn't make me think 'oh well, since my baby-maker's busted, might as well have a penis then!'

There is no "point" to being male or female. It's not like anyone chose their gender, so they shouldn't let the typical functions of that gender determine what path they follow in their lives.

Using your logic, I could argue that there is no point to being a man unless you are going to work in a job with harsh manual labor, since the most distinguishing feature of men is their physical strength.

EDIT:

In response to your additional details:

"Whats the point of being a man if youre not going to be a father?... well it doesnt change either way... child or no child."

I could just as easily say:

" 'What's the point of being a woman if you're not going to be a mother?' Well it doesn't change either way...child or no child."

You're only showing your own sexism and chauvinism by thinking that a woman's only purpose is to bear children. Our purpose is whatever we choose it to be, just like men.

who the hell said I won't be a mother I ccan't predict when I am going to have a child with my husband it's not like you time it well sometimes you do if youhave problems with that stuff. Seriously I don't plan on having one right now because i'm waiting for a good moment duh.
And I can't be a boy I can't just magically change my gender like that because I don't want to have a child I cant just pop out a penis and testicales you idiot!

My history prof. in school said that everyone on earth is here for a reason, some are here to be high achievers, others to save another's life and so on, so I would say doesn't matter what gender you are, you're here for a purpose, to fulfill a goal. If that sounds too philosophical and ridiculous let's just say we're alive, we're here, we're not supposed to do anything. So it's perfectly alright to be a woman and not even consider becoming a parent.

OK ladies. Give this guy a break already! His question is valid. And your emotional responses make me as a woman extremely frustrated - Stop acting like huge pent up starbuck induced balls of nothing but emotions - it makes us look bad!! And don't you think all this role reversal crap is the reason why guys won't commit anymore? C'mon - think ladies - think!!

To answer your question sir. I will answer this question on a personal basis, as I do not desire to try and be the voice of the majority [most assuredly not this particular majority]

I was terribly abused growing up. Due to this I was told that I would never be able to have children. It was difficult for me, but I moved on and educated myself and then others.

Later in life I was blessed to carry my first child - then 3 more. Did it overshadow my education, my teaching - not at all - it simply added to the further growth of myself as a person.

A woman need not have a child to be complete -- I do however feel that being a Mother is a calling - one of the highest - I also think that many women today are extremely selfish, vain individuals who would not be good Mothers and shouldnt have children.

Women were DESIGNED to be nurturers - caregivers. Me? I can do all!! I am truly a woman!! The harder they fight against this - the more stress, anxiety, depression they have [ not to mention bad relationships]

I must say that given todays society I feel that anyone desiring parenthood be made to pass psychological, drug, and background checks...

I guess the only sensible way to answer that question is with another question - What's the point of being a man if you aren't going to be a father?

Not all of us were cut out to be mothers....and we would make very bad ones. So I think its noble of those to recognize that fact and not mess up a bunch of kids for the selfish purpose of fulfilling her 'womanhood'.

The role of a woman is not only to carry babies. Women since the begining of time have played significant roles in molding society.

The role of women is to lead when men fail to take on this responsibility
