I would look to join a non contact league first. If & when you develop your skills further you may want to consider a league with contact. Being 19 & just learning to skate I would put aside the dreams of NHL but concentrate on having FUN and enjoying the great game of ice hockey.

If you just started the game at 19 you ain't gonna make it son.
Most of the players you are going up against have been playing 10-12-14 years.
You can't make up those years.
Those formative years ingrain certain skills into you that you just aren't going to learn at your age.
Unless you are the second coming of Howe, Orr, Lemieux you will never be more that an average player.

How old are you? First of all, you told us nothing about your ability to actually play HOCKEY & second of all, if you're old enough to be 5'10" and just started skating 8 months ago you can pretty much forget it.
Also, why did you express your height in feet & inches but your weight in kgs? Either use the metric system or don't, don't mix & match...

My little brother plays and he started "late". By late I mean around 10. He is now 14 and still catching up. Even that young they play a very hard hitting fast paced game. Go check out a game at you local rink, its probably too late for you. I am a very fast skater and have no problems on ice but I know that at 20 I couldnt play with them.

5' 10'' and 60kg -bit of a stick figure. The fact that you call it ice hockey leads me to believe the answer is no.

Anyone can be a hockey player.
Just slap some skates on and grab a stick, hit the puck and there you go.
It's that easy, but to play at the pro level, don't hold your breathe.

Can you play pro?
Probably not.
Can you play and have fun your whole life? Sure! I learned to play when I was in my mid-thirties. I play on three C level teams now, both coed and women's. I went from not being able to skate to hockey being the high point of my week.
I'm 5'4", by the way. It's not the size of the dog in the fight...

I think you, or anyone else could play. Anyone can play hockey because it is a fun and exciting game, regardless of your age or skill level. That being said if you are looking at it from a professional standpoint, you should have started at a younger age to develope.

Just considering that you say ice hockey instead of hockey, I would say that you don't love the game enough to play. Also I am to lazy to convert Kg into lbs.
