Yes I do very much, who cares about the broken vase or the beautiful flowers they plucked from your garden, to give you a present.
Or all the mess they left behind them, spilt milk, tramped in chocolate on your new carpet. Do we care naw, they oor ain grand weans and we luve them tae bits.

LOL, that's a good one. But I have a hubby who does that
very same thing.
Actually, I've never thought that a child brightens up a home.
And I had two. I do think that puppies and kittesn do however.
They are so cute to watch jump and play with each other. And
when they curl up to sleep next to each other that is the cutest
thing for me to see. Mostly tho, they amuse you and entertain
like a child normally wouldn't. And most of all, they don't
whine or cry unless they're hungry I suppose.
I'm sorry to say, I get more happiness from watching our
two little dogs play, than the years I was raising small
children without much satisfaction and was stressed alot of
the time. Now I have more patience and probably would
enjoy having children. But mother nature, doesn't allow it.

Our house looks like Blackpool Illuminations sometimes lol! We've told our Sprogg that when she gets her own place, we're going to turn all the lights on, throw towels all around the bathroom and use every mug, plate and every piece of cutlery she owns......just to make it feel like a home from home!!! On a more serious note, yes children really brighten up a home and we know the day will come when she will leave home but we're not looking forward to it even though we know it will happen. We're trying to teach her all she needs to know about running a home etc., but when the time comes we know there will be times when we will go into her room and put music on at full blast just as a reminder of her!!

Light switches, what are those? My daughter showed me a wonder this weekend. Marker pens that leave not a trace of anything unless you use them on special paper--amazing. Little grandson's daddy is working out of town--he said he is sad and want's to get daddy a present when he comes back home. I said OK what kind of present---he said A Puppy!! Well they have an old dog and she is tired of raising puppys and the last one ended up with cancer at 3 and had to be put down. The brightness they bring is awesome and the rest between them and the grandkids is a much needed recess.

Sure, like playing Tarzan with the drapes... rip ka-boom! Or leaving a wooden door open for more light. Or spilling Clorox on the carpet! The little darlings are sure to brighten up any home.

My 8 year old grandson has been living with us and his mother here. I would not part with him and will be very sorry when they get their own place and leave. I am not saying that I do not get grumpy and impatient but he brightens things up in all sorts of ways., starting with his curiosity

Yes, I have just put Lily (aged 8 years old) to bed. Last words; leave light on Grandma. She's on a sleepover until tomorrow. We had a fun evening watching music on You Tube!

I woruld rather have puppies!
I have two wonderful daughters who left home (after I did actually)! They are both doing well in their lives and I believe they are very happy, I am certainly proud of them both.
I now live abroad with my new husband and look forward to seeing my grandchildren when the eggs are fertilised....but I´m sure I will also be secretly pleased when they go home too!
