i cant help to notice little kids singing songs about sex and most likely dont even know they are. i think this is awful and these bands should be ashamed of themselves. its like kids at the ages between 6-15 singing along to their songs they should take in consideration their audience and be careful with what they say in their lyics. i am truely disgusted.
example: DANCE DANCE: Why don't you show me the little bit of spine
You've been saving for his mattress (mattress, mattress)
I only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into bed with me
"Of All The Gin Joints In All The World"
Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains my pillowcase
Like I'll never be the same
Sugar we're going down- Oh don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet
Wishing to be the friction in your jeans
Isn't it messed up how I'm just dying to be him
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song

"Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"-
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter"
and much more most of Fob songs are like these
PATD:
"Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off"Let's get these teen hearts beating. Faster, faster
So testosterone boys and harlequin girls,
Will you dance to this beat, and hold a lover close?
So testosterone boys and harlequin girls,
Will you dance to this beat, and hold a lover close?
I've got more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, a better ****
Than any boy you'll ever meet, sweetie you had me
Girl I was it, look past the sweat, a better love deserving of
Exchanging body heat in the passenger seat?
No, no, no, you know it will always just be me
-and much more songs but just to give an example-

what bothers me the most is when i asked my teenage niece she said she loves the songs because they have meaning.
so i decided to look up the songs and this is what i get for the "meaning" i don't know how you teens and kids are interpreting but the lyrics tell the meaning loud in clear.

I COMPLETELY AGREE this is the reasons why i hate those bands. its degrading and sends out a bad message in my opinion whats worse is that they are really famous too. they also make their songs really catchy which tends to bring younger audience. But yes i think the same thing you said.
Even though i also hate hannah montana and highschool musical (and dont support them in any way) i rather have my younger cousins listening to that then FOB, P!ATD and/or GCH
but i agree with what the first guy that answered this question you cant really do anything to stop it and she probably likes them because they are cute and popular. and theres a lot of songs that talk about subjects like that. but if i wanted to hear lyrics that talk about that subject i would be listening TO RAP and regeatton.
MCR is a good example of a Good Band and they love their fans and hate songs that degrade women or are prejudice, the also dont encourage self harm or violence. Trust me MCR is a awesome band with clean lyrics (well they do cuss but the message is clean) LONG LIVE MCR!!!

I would rather my boys listen to rappers talkin' about crack ho's than listen to these TERRIBLE bands. HOWEVER, I believe in promoting individual differences and if they want to listen to "pseudo-boy band/ punk rocker wanna be" sounding music, then that's their choice. ALL genres need better labeling, but parents need to get their crap together and know what their kids are into and what they know and don't know about the real world and the made up scenarios in music. Separating fact from fantasy and giving an "open door" policy to kids so that they never have to be afraid to ask a question about something they hear either in a song or at school is responsible parenting. It's funny to me that my boys like the music of my choice, Korn, AIC and Foo Fighters, but the disc they listen to most on their own is P.O.D. (Christian in background with NO offensive or obcene material) I bought that disc for "Southtown" and they took it over! Probably because the music with sexual and indecent material is no big deal to them because they know I won't sanction them but rather explain the material so they don't misunderstand.

Wow, that's pretty disturbing lyrics. The truth though is, a lot of bands are known to put on some "offensive" lyrics, both good and bad bands.
However, in the end, it's just choice. What you can do though is to limit your sons and daughters to some music early on, but let them explore more when they're older. They have to learn one thing that music is entertainment, and shouldn't be taken for granted. I listen to a lot of Disturbed, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, and Green Day...they've all got some inappropriate language, but I'm a little older to understand what they mean.

You know what's worse? There are people who actually LISTEN to that garbage. It's disgusting to see/hear little kids singing "Thnks fr th mmrs" they don't know how disgusting they sound. I had to tell a supposed fan of FOB what the song meant, and I'm not even a fan!

Yeah, I think it's really wrong, but really the only thing that can be done is parents stopping children from listening to it, they aren't going to stop the lyrics. Bands like The All American Rejects take these things into consideration, no swearing, or sex lyrics, they rock!

LOL - I'm really not a lyric snob, but those are horrible! I'm not sure if they were written expressly for the teenage girl population, but they are the only ones, in all likelihood, that would swoon over them.
So what can be said that hasn't been said already? Nothing - it is the parents responsibility to monitor what their children listen to. It's no one else's.

In a way I suppose that you're right, but I still love these bands. And it does kind of annoy me how so many younger kids listen to them.

I REALLY don't like those bands you spoke about, BUT with that said, I used to listen to much worse when I was younger. Also, anyone with an older sibling has heard 10x worse.

It all comes down to censorhip......who should be watching what these kids are listening to? The record companies and the 'musicians' (i use this term loosely applying to this set of bands)? No.....it all comes down to the parents monitoring what THEIR children are being exposed to......if they're lax in that area, what gives them the right to blame others?
