i have a program that will restore data off a computer that the hard drive was formatted and data recovery works very well

if you want it gone forever it needs to be written over use a program like data gone it boots from a floppy and wipes the hard drive by writing 1's and 0's over the whole drive

i think maxtor.com has one that will do it also
windows washer will do it also if you put it in as a 2nd hard drive in you're new computer

data gone is the best try download.com

I have a program that will overwrite the data on the drive up to 35 times. Even the NSA only recommends 7 times.

It is called Eraser, it's freeware.
