you mean like my neighbor who is on wic and food stamps and cash assistance and just bought a 2006 jag? that one!? oh she was outside bragging about her car this and her car that. so my husband, very casually said"did you pay for your jag with a check, credit card, or your EBT card." it was hilarious. she is always outside bragging about how much she gets every month. now this girl doesnt work and doesnt even have a GED. she dropped out of high school in 10th grade. she's 32 years old and I even told her I would help her study for the test if she really wanted to change her life. she said she has taken the test 3 times and failed and complained that the test was too long. I just got fed up with her **** and I told her "even inmates in jail take advantage of getting their GED and the test cant be as long as you stand in line for recertification of wic and food stamps." needless to say that ended our friendliness. WTF! all she does is sit at home and wait for a dang check. and we live in a nice neighborhood and nobody wants to deal with that crap. GET UP AND GET A JOB! but the reason they wont or dont is because they will have to wheel and deal at a regular job and hope they work 40 hours to be able to buy groceries, it's much easier for them to sit at home and depend on the state to provide them Xamount of dollars a week or monthly. THEY CAN DEPEND ON THAT THOUGH! MAYBE IF THE GOVERNEMENT MADE THEM BUY ALL GENERIC FOOD FOR THE LOWER PRICES, THEN MAYBE THESE OTHER COMPANIES WILL FEEL THREATENED AND LOWER THEIR PRICES AND THEN MAYBE, JUST MAYBE WE WILL ALL BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT! MILK IS ALMOST 6 DOLLARS A GALLON HERE(SUFFOLK VA). i go to register counting my little peanuts trying to buy milk for my kids when all they have to do is swipe a Dang card! and to top it off did anyone else know that on the average, 6 months of our pay is taxes! c'mon yall.

It can be very frustrating seeing people struggling to the point that they need assistance and then seeing them freely choose the top brand. In some cases though, the price between "brand" and "store brand" is not significant enough to worry, but in others it is enough that a conscious person would hopefully shop smarter (cereals tend to be an item where this is really visible). About the only way to push for use of the cheaper item would be to label the vouchers with some criteria that indicates "non-brand items preferred when available", but implementing would be pain. Brand name companies would fight any implementation saying the regulation would be unfair to them (and I'm sure they'd show where price was close and product quality was the issue). Stores would have an increased burden as well to enforce any changes.

Now what is really frustrating is when you see someone using vouchers at a convenience store to buy items when you know that they only carry brands and carry them at a premium price.

The simplest cause you may have that opinion is for the reason that you may have a task - despite the fact that you do not make plenty of coins, you are financially steady and evidently ready to have the funds for an excessively respectable regular of dwelling if you are on the web at dwelling proper now. For persons who, for some thing cause, can not get a task and are compelled to depend on welfare, it is a fully one-of-a-kind tale. That stated, if persons get an excessive amount of welfare they lose the inducement to discover paintings, that's why it is predominant to discover the stability among the 2. Balance is what is wanted, now not severe measures like the only you are suggesting.

I live near low income houses worth $250,000 if they were in the city and I can tell you they drive better cars than I drive with working all my life and always have a cell phone in their ears and when charity groups bring gifts you can see the gigantic TVs they own. They are now being filled with people who can't speak English. The kids eat two meals free at school. They get free home heating.

When I was in college I was in the grocery store one night and the guy in front of my was yapping on his fancy cell phone, wearing all sort of jewelry, and swiping a food stamp card to pay for his groceries. I was very upset with our system after seeing that.

I've seen that happen too, and it does irritate me. When we get generic sometime to make our money go further, and they are using free money (money that I as a tax payer helped provide) to get top of the line brand names, yes that does irritate me.

we regulate what they can and can not buy in Texas...usually i think it's too bad that so many people need public assistance in a country as wealthy as ours...i think a better public education is the key to changing the situation

And how do I know they're on welfare? They pull out one of those credit-like cards with the American Flag on it.
