I think most guys that have "live-in" girlfriends postpone wedding just in case stuff does not work on. It leaves a backdoor, in case. I personally think if you love someone and want to live with them you should get married first.

This is a hard one. There are circumstances of circumstances. I mostly do not agree with living together, but in certain circumstances its advisable.
For example, college kids, highschool sweethearts etc. should not live together...why? They are not mature enough and they will fight like cats and dogs. Also, the girl may assume that they will eventually get married, when that is mostly not the case.
In other circumstances, mature, independent adults may have valid reasons to live together before making a decision whether or not getting married. Emotional and financial freedom are essential to make this work.
If mariage is not a priority for you, then yes, live together; but definetly, living together will delay the wedding bells.
Good luck

"Getting the milk for free" is not a reason to avoid marrying your girlfriend. Marriage is a union between two people who realize they want to be together forevery, to make a life and a family with one another.
Do you love her? Do you want to keep her? I am not saying she will up and go if you are not married but I am saying that it is a commitment that people should think twice about breaking.
If you are only keeping her around for her working for you doing the cleaning, cooking, picking up your dry-cleaning, then you should release her and let her find someone who will love her the way she deserves to be loved. You are not being fair to her just thinking of her as a servant that takes care of all your needs including your "milk".
Good Luck

why are youcleaning, cooking and doing dry-cleaning for your boyfriend. Of course he is not going to marry you, why would he. If you want to live with each other first fine but if you are going to be running around after him there is no incentive there whatsoever to get married. If i could have my cake and eat it too i would.

Girls, living together is the biggest scam us guys have concocted!! We get it all and with no commitment.
I advise every woman I know....do not live with a guy until he walks you down the aisle.
The saying is true. Free milk is good.

On the other hand why buy the pig for a little sausage? Not all men feel that way. Only the ones that do not want to get married. They want to leave there options open.

I don't think the saying is always true. I moved in with my husband when we were first dating. 3 months after I moved in he proposed and 5 months after that we were married.
