Wow, what a lot of Texas bashing.

Are things bigger...depends.
The bugs, as some have mentioned, are a little bigger. The West Texas Fire Ant for example...those little buggers are a good 5 cm large and pack one heck of a bite....make you think that you were bitten by a scorpion.

The attitudes and hair are usually bigger. But that's mainly in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area.

The state itself with all it's natural beauty is bigger. West Texas is affectionetly known as the Big Country.

And, our Prides are bigger. We have a lot to be proud of. We didn't have the good fortune of just being one of the 13 colonies or simply purchased from another country. Oh no, we had to fight for every inch of land we have. 6 different countries have flown their flags over our beautiful hills, mountains, deserts, and beaches. We lost many a good man and woman in our pursuit of becoming a Republic, and later a proud part of The United States of America.

As with any place, there is ignorance. Texas is no different. We just seem to have every rich Tom, Dick, and Harry with aspirations of world domination using our great state as their launching platform.

The majority of Texans are good hard working people that would gladly give you the shirt off their backs. In some parts, people will even wave at you when you pass them on the Highway. It's just our way of saying, "Hello...Good to see you, neighbor."

PLEASE don't think that because of a few bad apples, that the whole barrell of us are rotten. We welcome each and every person in our great state.

The only thing that are bigger in Texas are the bugs, the population of non English speaking Hispanics, the cost of living, the egos of Native Texans and the amount of people that cannot drive but do so anyway.

Considering how people trash Wisconsin, I agree with my dear friend Oberon on how not to describe other states.

(Except for the Shrub -- then everything is dumber in Texas.)

I really can't say I've never been to the Lone Star State, but I've heard that places are quite pretty.

Many Texans were bummed out when Alaska became a state. All of Texas could fit inside with lots of elbow room.

Hmmm....I heard it as "everything grows bigger in Texas." And I got that from my grandma who was born and raised a good ole Texas gal. Her idea of a lullabye was "Yellow Rose of Texas."

Considering the size of the buildings and the roads and overpasses, I would have to say yes, and for everyting else. well there just like anywhere else, they might just brag a little better then most.

nope, there are a lot of small things in Texas. Let me set you an example. People believes that learning spanish will make them difficult to pronounce good English.

That's so stupid.

They do serve up huge hunks of meat, but I don't think it's the kind you're looking for.
