Simply and technically, it means that they are 180 degrees from each other...on the opposite sides of each other charts. In astrology, this is considered incompatible...though not necessarily a negative thing. It could mean that you're strong where she's weak and this opposition may balance things out.
Depending on what house of your charts these 2 planets are will determine their strengths and weaknesses for and/or against each other.

This usually denotes a subtle romantic attraction ,both partners are very sexually drawn to each other. But issues arise when one tries to dominate the other. The Venus individual will feel that the Pluto individual is it's ideal mate and there is a strong ,passionate emotional link.
If either planet in the opposition is afflicted in the natal charts the is a possibility that there will be some sort of problem in the sex life, where one tries too control the other with it,or one makes to many sexual demands on the other. In some way the sexual affairs would be unbalanced. The Pluto individual may see the Venus individual as weak, and easily controlled. Thus it may try to subtly dominate them.
If Venus should be terribly afflicted a masochistic relationship can come about.

It means your relationship stands a good chance of not being boring or becoming predictable. If you want stability, predictability, and easy time of it, don't go this way. Get out of it. But..........if you're looking for the unexpected, excitement, the extraordinary and some kind of "thrills", this combination is a good bet to give it to you. Don't be discouraged by people who tell you this is a bad combo......in a relationship you WANT to have some areas of tension and stress. Not all "stress" is negative or bad. "Stress" can come from winning the lottery, or going to Iraq, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Oppositions between Pluto and Venus can be a good thing, depending on the house and sign they're in.

Oppositions always create conflicting forces at work; 2 forces pulling you in different directions. Though in conflict, there is always an opportunity to reconcile the two as one possesses some traits which the other is lacking. As Venus represents the Goddess of Love and Pluto the Underworld, this opposition is considered a 'hard' aspect as the energies are not easy to reconcile.
When Venus is in opposition to Pluto in a combined chart reading, it is likely that you will experience a repetitive pattern of sexual love and emotional affairs which either do not seem to satisfy and fulfil you, or collapse into failure, acrimony and suffering. This can lead to a jaded, cynical attitude founded upon a frustrated, demoralised emotionally battered perception of love.
Your emotional intensity and passion is likely to cause difficulties for you and your partner, as it often seems to run away out of your control, and can take you into situations and encounters which from a clearer perspective you would consider to be undesirable. Certainly you are looking for something; but your sexual and emotional desires can be too strong, creating distortions of inner energy and leading to compulsive behaviour on your part
Usually, you want your partners to change to suit you, and you can put intense pressure upon them, especially sexually and emotionally. Both of you will need to learn the necessity for mutual compromise in relationships, to understand your inner underlying desires and impulses which are conditioning and controlling you from the depths of your unconscious. This will also serve to balance out your erratic flow of emotional desires, which often seems to confuse you and your partner, as you appear to 'blow very hot and very cold' in your responses to them.

Any conjunction or opposition with pluto in a compatability chart I've noticed (first hand, I hate to say) is DANGEROUS! So yes, it does mean something and it's NOT GOOD.
