On rare occasions, I too have controlled my dreams. Suppose I am going in my car in my dream, and anticipate some disaster ahead, I think I was able to regulate my dream suitably and the disaster was averted. Now, I cannot say for sure whether it was my control on dream or that the dream was designed in such way originally that I do not meet with an accident. I cannot be sure. After waking up I can truthfully boast that I controlled my dream.

i believe in my dreams so when i don’t like what's happening or the outcome of my dream i go back to sleep and i try to pick up where i left off before i woke up but this time i try to go and do what i want.
I.e. dreaming of snakes mean people will be talking badly about you or that bad reputation will follow. so when I have that dream I normally try to back and make sure that I am not afraid of the snakes and I also try to scare them away.

A dream is your subconscious mind making things up, or replaying a memory. Seeing as it's your mind, technically it's you that's controlling it. I've never heard of a dream being controlled consciously though.
