Before I divorced my wife I would defend her to the hilt to family and friends and so I did with my girlfriend who came after. In hindsight I can see that the critics of my wife and girlfriend were well placed, but love a sense of loyalty would never hear a word said against them.
From this you might well think that I have a poor judge of partner, but my new fiancée is seen by all as fine girl with a lovely nature and disposition. She makes me happy and I never have to defend her to anyone.
Fight? Maybe not fisticuffs, but certainly a vigorous support based on love and loyalty.

I'm a little unclear of your question.
Do you mean physical (like another b/f, g/f)
Or convincing them that you are meant to be together.
I think as long as they're worth it, be persistent.
Just don't start acting desperate or worse stalking the person.
If they cheated on you, or treated you wrong in some way, run the other way.
I know it's hard and love makes us do irrational things, but you're better that that.

I have and would for anyone I love but especially my family. They do not require it of me, just something which I will do to protect them.

its normal for a relationship to have arguements! I know that me and my boyfriend got into our first fight this past week! its part of a relationship....there are going to be some disagreements and agreements... you just have to get through them!

umm...fight who? if someone was messing with him, yeah, i would. i wouldnt fight someone if he was trying to leave me for them. no way! id watch him walk.
