Is this something I can do myself or should it be done at a shop? How hard is it to heat up my trumpet with a torch and soldered the (3) braces back in place.
The mouthpiece is still stuck, this is how the braces broke in thr first place. Have another band competition in 5 days, then a state competition a week later. Help!!!!

The braces are probably silver soldered, and you can't do that yourself. Take it to a repair shop. You will more than likely not make the next competition.

Take your horn to a plumbing shop. They should be able to torch solder it like they do copper pipes. However, remember always "there's lead in that there solder" so don't get it near your mouth or hands too often. Most plumbers , and for that matter most people who solder, won't do pretty work to keep your horn looking new.
