Prayer changes things.
I'm a witness.
I just recently got over a breakup.
Until that time, I was having problems with thinking and dreaming of my ex-bf all day, everyday!
One night, I turned my face to the wall and I prayed for God's wisdom and intervention.
I asked for His help and I was very specific.
His response has been miraculous and I no longer hold my ex-bf in my thoughts 24-7.
So...I say...pray and expect a change in your circumstances!

never replace one bad thing with another; it's stupid. find out what makes you obsessed / addicted and untie that knot. a milder way is to have some obsesions but in lower dosage. most ppl have these but under control. the main thing is to gain your self respect back and to be over with whatever bugs you because you don't need it anymore to go on. yu don't need them crutches.

do the opposite of the habit and reward yourself with something positive when you succeed. Try to stay away from what is causing your addiction, replace it with some other activity that involves more than one person.

I have the same problem - i put myself on a tight budget. A certain amount goes into savings, a certain amount to bills, and a SMALL amount for free spending - and write down everything so you know exaclty how much you're spending. unfortunately if that doesn't work have someone you trust hold your debit card for you (my boyfriend has mine).

Two entirely different things. People talk about being "addicted" to food, for instance, when they're just greedy bastards.
