All they've played are "THE" weak teams. Don't they know that if an SEC team meets them in the championship game that, they, "THE" Ohio St. chumps will get their a$$eS handed to them again ?

Just my thought.

"THE" senSAINTional !

63-76 Thats the record of the out of Conference teams the combinded (7) Ranked SEC teams have played. So, the obvious "Cupcake Schedule" scenario should be removed from discussion. Lets now move on to Top 25. Lets look at losses the teams within the top 25 bring into poll. Combinded #'s
1.) SEC 39-14 (7 Teams)
2.)ACC 20-2 (3 Teams)
3.)Big East 17-4 (3 Teams)
4.)Big 10 20-4 (3 Teams)
5.)Big 12 26-4 (4 Teams)
6.)Pac 10 24-4 (4 Teams)
7.) Hawaii 7-0 (1 Team )

Now,Most major Conferences play 8 Conf. games. So Conference strength as a WHOLE should be taken into account. Lets look at how the Confences have done as a combinded group this year.
1.) SEC 58-33
2.) ACC 53-34
3.) BIG EAST 38-21
4.) BIG 10 56-32
5.) BIG 12 59-33
6.) PAC 10 42-29

These records dont show 1 dominant Conference if you ask me.Each conference has its own "Cupcakes" within its own Conf.
The BIG 12, PAC 10, and West Athletic Conf. teams bring no out of conference losses with them into top 25. And Nation Wide Offence and Defense rankings show that within the top 25 ranked teams nationally. The current top 25 poll teams bring these ranking with them.
1.) SEC #8,#9,#18 Offence / *6,#12,#15 Defence
2.) ACC Offence/ #8,#18,#21 Defence
3.)BIG EAST #7,#22Offence/ #11,#19,#22 Defence
4.)BIG 10 Offence/ #1,#4 Defence
5.)BIG 12 #3,#5,#10 Offence / #2,#3,#23 Defence
6.) PAC 10 #2,#12 Offence / #5,# 10 Defence
7.) Hawaii #1 Offence

I guess one could rely on the numbers if the rankings dont appeal too them. But then again. The numbers show possibly that the rankings are deserved and correct?
My biggest issue is that the TOP 25 Teams combined have a record of 153-32 and that 14 of them losses come from one conferences teams. Pull your weight please SEC after all your supposed to be the "Best" Conference in the NCAA or so your fan base would argue. lmfao Slackers

I hate Ohio state myself, and they do not deserve to be #1! They won by 7 points on saturday, when they were expected to win by 18 1/2, yea that really shows #1 material! Im a Michigan fan, and am looking forward to the game this year, time for a big upset and Michigan will end the reign of the so called "#1 in the nation" team. Anyways, the reason why they are number 1 is because they have a 17 game winning streak in the season, not counting the loss in the bowl game last year, but we all know that wont continue =D

somebody has to get it, and with ohio weak schedule, the voters figured they may hold it longer to keep them from looking so stupid, bcs is a joke anyway and this year its coming true, may be the year to get playoffs cause the system now just doesnt work, okie barley gets by and 2 teams jump them? when in turn they just got bye and they were ahead of lsu in polls, so that tells you this system is junk, im not a okie fan either but 4 to 7 something wrong and ohio better hope they dont go all the way, just be another wooping by the sec or even funnier acc

Whomever gets the top spots will cycle out again this year.

There's parity in the NCAA this year. Thank goodness. I was sure getting tired of the big money schools being the only competition. I'm laughing my butt off at Notre Dame and hope other "powerhouses" like Maurice Clarett's Ohio State follow suit soon.

I thrill to the idea of four mid-majors like South Florida being 1,2,3,4 someday. Wouldn't that make the pollsters wish they weren't getting so much payola? I'm not even a South Florida fan. I just completely dislike big sports schools cheating to the top every season and calling it competition.

Life would be so good.

Yeah forgot about all the undefeated SEC teams hidden down in the rankings.

Oh that's right.
- Florida lost to LSU and Auburn. Whats with them playing great teams like Western Kentucky, Troy, and Florida Atlantic?
- LSU lost to Kentucky and should have lost to Auburn. They play Middle Tennessee State, Tulane, and Louisiana Tech. More great teams.
- Kentucky lost to Florida and South Carolina. Plays Eastern Kentucky, Kent State, and Florida Atlantic.
- South Carolina lost to LSU and Vandy. Plays Louisiana-Lafayette, South Carolina State, and North Carolina.

Yup Ohio State is the only team to schedule an easy non conference game. At least they tried having a tougher one against Washington. They are usually better than they are this year.

I think the pollsters know that Ohio State is not a number one caliber team and neither is BC a #2. But when they keep putting these patsy-playing, cupcake-eating, nobody-playing teams in the top spot it creates anger. Anger creates inspiration. And inspiration sells tickets and school athletic wear and the sort. It's still all about the money. I'm just trying to be an optimist about it though.

CARL N, What is your point? The question was about Ohio State and you never mentioned them at all in the book you wrote.

I can see we either have some haters on here or sore Ohio State fans. If Ohio State is ranked #1 then you have to let them be tied with all the other unbeaten teams that play nobodies. Will Ohio State schedule William & Mary next year and hope only Mary shows up?

Because Youngstown State is their signature win. I think and no lie Florida played a hell of a game in front of a record crowd in Commonwealth Stadium. But still we were 2 inches away from winning that game.(the onside kick) But I guess thats what you get after playing the No1 team in the Nation then play a No14 team coming off a bye week. Good Game but Go Cats!

Don't worry about Ohio st they will lose 3 of the next 4 and wont be a factor. I wouldn't worry about usc either they got 1 or 2 more losses coming.

undefeated BCS conference school. That's the only reason why. Name one player on Ohio State's team that is close to any national player award?

why can't you let it go, or read some of the other questions asking the same thing.

the rankings aren't necessarily a ranking of how good a team is......it's how they've done up to this point in the season as much as anything

let it go

but I'm with you....I do hope they get their butts handed to them this weekend

-please note- I hate Ohio State as much as the next guy....and I certainly hate sticking up for them
so you can understand how ignorant I think questions like this are....in order to bring myself to argue FOR OSU
