yes you can have even in younger ages. It can be hereditary, it means if you have a family trait with cancer or by just naturaly developed in your body by unknown cause. Oh well just be careful of those risk factors that can lead to cancer. Good luck

Sorry to say that you can get cancer at any age!

I had cancer at age 23 -- at least, that's when it was discovered. I had a grade 2 chondrosarcoma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chondrosarcoma) in my right femur (thigh bone) where the bone marrow should have been. It weakened the wall of my bone and caused a fracture. Had the pain from the fracture not alerted me to its presence, who knows how long I might have had it before it was discovered. I had surgery to have it removed. The surgeon made a "window" in my femur, took out the tumor, filled the inside of my bone with a bonding agent similar to those that the dentist now uses for fillings, then put a plate and screws over the "window," also adding a steel rod through the neck of my hip bone for reinforcement. I never had chemo or radiation, and it's been over 14 years with no recurrence.

Cancer is not a death sentence. I am a 14-year survivor! The tendency to have cancer can be passed down through your genes, or environmental influences can cause it (smoking, ingesting a carcinogen, breathing toxic fumes, etc.). Unfortunately, this means that you can get it any time in your life. If you have a reason for concern, discuss it with your doctor. There are no stupid questions, especially when it comes to something this serious.

I am afraid there is no age barrier to cancer , as even children can have this awful disease
Some cancers are much more prevalent the older you get
If you have any doubts whatsoever get along to your GP as most forms of the disease can be at least put in remission if caught and treated early
Good Luck

Yup, unfortunately. Just had an experience of meeting a young man of 25 (who then died just a few days later, all this happened last week), who told me he was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 17. Never smoked in his life, nor his parents. No asthma or cancer in family history. All sorts of cr@p can happen in life.
