This means that “murder” is only a theory… If they have evidence that she is dead, why would the police investigate any further sightings?

Of course theories should be there to be proved right or wrong, but to concentrate on only one theory can jeopardise the whole investigation. I share Mr Ribeiro’s suggestion that the police should be energetic but dispassionate at the same time. "We cannot let ourselves be carried away by emotion, we have to keep all lines of inquiry open and take one step at a time." I feel that at some point that PJ were convinced that that Murder was the only possibility and ignored other lines of investigations. Finding Madeleine should be the prime focus… convicting the perpetrator should come second. Don’t you agree?

Yes..If the police have been leaking info to the press it is wrong and someone should be held accountable for it..
Of course they can not say 100% that Maddy is dead as they do not have a body.
That is all very obvious, They can only say what the evidence is pointing to at the moment. By asking this sort of question you need to be open to asking other questions too like..If they had evidence that Maddy was abducted why would they continue to keep the parents as suspects.Based on your argument, Surely Maddy being abducted is also just a theory?

EDIT...I absolutely agree that ALL theories and possibilities should be explored thoroughly. I also think you are right in the fact that perhaps the police have been one sided on this case, and I think that maybe that is where all the confusion comes in for "pros" and "antis".alike. I am glad they are checking up on reported sightings and feel they are now at last doing what have should have been done in the first place. I wonder if maybe it is all too little too late. Just because I believe one thing it doesn't mean I want it to be true. I hope in the near future I have to swallow all my posts and say i was wrong on this one. I would also like add on a personal note how nice it is to have an edit which does not resort to name calling or immature insults and for that I thank you. x

IMO i think we will never find out what did happen and, all we will ever have is theory in one form or another as to what did occur that evening .
